Chapter 1

She was at the door again.  In tight black clothing and black cloak, and the same look on her face, the
same one she puts on every night at two am.  She thinks Ron and I don't know, we would have had to
find out eventually. Every night she goes to bed early, claiming she is tired and then at two am she is out
her door with the same back duffle bag and the same expression on her face.  The only place I've seen
an expression like that is on Draco Malfoy.  What she does and where she goes, I have no idea.  I don't
really want to know either, when I find out, I know the sweet smart cute girl I know, who's life revolves
around her friends and the library, will disappear from my life forever.

So, I get up every night, sit on the stairs with my invisibility cloak and watch her leave, every night the
same, for the past two weeks. She must have been doing this for a few months at the least.  She moves
through the sequence so expertly. My theory is that she's been doing it since the start of this school year,
our 6th year. You would never be able to tell unless you knew something was up.  She still acts the same,
but you now she's doing something by her body.  It is not only growing up, that's normal, but she seems...
stronger.  Like she's been working out or something.  I finally decided I had to do something before it
killed me.  I could never use the map, but I wanted to see it with my very own eyes.

I followed her out the portrait, she didn't seem to worry much about being caught, and she went walking
strait through the middle of the corridor, a determined expression on her face.  She wasn't invisible; she
could be caught at any moment for god’s sake!!!  Flitch appeared suddenly from around the corner, with
his brat of a cat right behind him.  He merely nodded at Hermione, not telling her off or anything!  What
the... were all the teachers involved in this??  She continued walking down the corridor, as if running into
flitch was perfectly normal...

She made her way into the dungeons, going into one of the forbidden passageways, which were kept
out of bounds.  They were supposed to only be deserted classrooms which where too old and dangerous
to use... what was she doing here?  God, the whole thing was strange... she opened the door of a
classroom. Someone was already inside their back was turned to the door, it was a man, that I can tell.
He was looking out the window.

"Finally, I thought you'd never come." the guy said and turned around.

His hood from his cloak fell off his head to reveal platinum blond hair.  DRACO MALFOY!!!!!!!  I
nearly screamed out loud.  What the hell was she doing with this asshole, they hate each other!!

I stepped back out of the room to get over my shock; I could handle the situation without screaming.
So I did, in my head I screamed bloody murder.  A few minutes later, after getting over my original
shock I stepped back inside the room.  Hermione had dropped her bag on the table.  She moved across
the room to Malfoy, who was wearing the exact same thing she was. Although it looked somewhat sexier
on her.  He was now sitting on the window seat, looking at her like she was some sort of meal, he wanted
to devour, that look would get any any guy a slap on the face by Hermione, but she was looking at him
the same way.  It was scary; this was a different person, and not the cute cuddly schoolgirl he knew. She
got even closer to Malfoy, breathing down his neck, she saddled him and they kissed violently.  That was
it!!!!!! I began furious moves of taking off his cloak and pulling her off him. But, right before he got his
cloak off, Snape came through the door.

"Mr. Malfoy, Ms. Granger.  Could you please wrap things up in here? Hagrid and Black are waiting
for you on the quidditch pitch." he said in a monotone voice, as if was perfectly normal to find them
snogging.

Malfoy and Hermione both groaned, disappointed.  I was fuming, couldn't they feel the heat rolling off
my body?!?  I have never been so angry.  No.

It wasn't anger.  I was hurt.  Hurt by her.  And I was vengeful.

They both grabbed their duffle bags and left the room quickly. I had to run to catch up with them, how
the hell could they walk so quickly??? As we reached the pitch, I saw the very same maze that had been
constructed for my 4th year back in place and Sirius and Hagrid waiting with a few other wizards. My
only real family was there, and I hadn't known about this?!?

"Malfoy," Hagrid hissed.

Hermione sent him daggers and if looks could kill, Hagrid would've been dead ten times over. Hagrid
backed down slightly, but you could still see the fire in his eyes.  Sirius and Malfoy merely nodded
respectfully at each other.

"I should explain the situation to you, shouldn't I?" Sirius grinned. "Normally, you train in the forest, but
ever since your small run in with a few vampires-- although I must say you both handled it really well,
but it still wasn't part of the training-- anyways, we decided to put this up here. It's be gone during the
day, so no one will find out."

"Is that it?" Hemione asked carelessly.

"Don't worry, it's much harder than the one 'arry went through.." Hagrid laughed.  What I went through
during the tri-wizard tournament wasn't hard?

"Why doesn't Potter have to do this?" Malfoy asked impatiently.

"His turn will come. Harry will be able to deal with Voldemort, but you two are the ones who are going
to get him to Voldemort, so that's why you have to be more prepared.  You know your job, get rid of
all the death eaters on the planet, Harry only need to knock out one guy..." Sirius said.  There was a
moment of silence.  "You guys might want to get ready..."

Both Malfoy and Hermione walked quickly into the changing rooms, both of them going into the same
room, Hagrid followed them, looking suspiciously at Draco. He opened the door to find Hermione in a
bra and g-string.  Luckily, for me, Malfoy only had his shirt off.

"If you don't mind we're trying to change," Malfoy hissed.

"Together!" Hagrid asked incredulously to Hermione.  Trying to keep his eyes averted, I was too, trust
me. Had I known what a beauty had been in our midst before this?

Obviously not.

“Hagrid, know you’re new at this, but there is no need to be suspicious of Draco and we have always
changed together, at least, since we started going out, okay?” Hermione said through gritted teeth.

That Bitch. Going out with an asshole like him, keeping it a secret from us.  I wouldn’t be surprised if
they were sleeping together already, they were only 16.  God, this is too much.  I quickly left the room,
angry and went back to the common room, sat down on the couch and waited for her to come back.

At five am, I heard some noises outside the portrait.

Actually, more like moaning.

I couldn’t take it.  I merely got up and walked up the tower and sat outside her door. I didn’t want to
hear my best friend, no, my sister was having sex with my worse enemy just outside the portrait.

I was remarkably calm considering the situation. I suppose I shut down when I get angry, let nothing out,
take nothing in.  I wasn’t sure what to do yet.  Tell Ron?  He’d go berserk.  How exactly was I suppose
to ask Hermione?

Why the hell are you getting battle training and I’m not?

That would go over big.

Why are you sleeping with that asshole?

Too personal.

She didn’t get in till six a.m., an hour before we wake up. Her face red, hair tousled. Her clothes were
completely messed up, and her breath heavy and exhausted.  I didn’t really want to know why either.
She walked right past me, not seeing me, strait into her bedroom.  Her mind lost in thought.

I wanted to go in there and confront her, scream my mind out at her.  But my mind changed, I wanted to
do it publicly.  Not in front of the whole school, but the Gryffindors.  I wanted them to see what a traitor
she actually was. It would have been different if she had been only doing battle training, but sleeping with
the enemy, that was uncalled for.

I didn’t go back to sleep that night, I stayed awake for the short hour before I was to confront her. Ron
didn't know anything yet, and I was going to tell him like I was going to tell the rest of the Gryffindors. I
have never needed to be so harsh with someone.  I have never been a very cruel person.  To do a thing
like this to the poor girl is just, -

But wait.  She's not a poor little girl anymore is she?

No, she was Malfoy's property now.  Untouchable according to Gryffindor standards. But she was still
my best friend. Note the "was". She's far from that now. She's a traitor. That girl I loved as a sister has
been corrupted and brutalized and it isn't really her fault, it that-

There I go again. Of course it's her fault.  No one can change into something like that without some part
of their sub-conscious want them to change.

As I was "awoken" by Ron and we both made our ways down the stairs to find Hermione. Not the one
who I saw last night with Malfoy, but the old one, the one who’d been betrayed by herself. The one
whose life was about to be thrown out the window.
