Chapter 1
 

Hermione was sitting in the common room reading as usual, but her mind wasn't really on the
book. She was thinking about Christmas presents and wondered what to get for who. She was
thinking if she should just get Harry and Ron something but she didn't want to seem to cheap.
So she decided to make a list...

"Hmmm I wonder what I should get for Harry", said Hermione going off into another land....

I know!!
 

1-Harry- Broom Kit
 

"I know that Harry will need another one," she said, "I haven't given him that gift since the third
year and now we're in 6th."

"I wonder what should I get Ron? Well, maybe he wants money.....I can't think of anything to
get him.."
 

2-Ron- Money with card
 

"Now, who else?, Oh of course the rest of the Weasleys!"

"I'll need something for Ginny, George, Fred....maybe someone else. So now let's think of
something for Ginny. She's been dating Colin so maybe they'd want a poster of Harry or
something....(she laughs to herself)...I better cross that idea out they probably have a lot
already. So maybe I'll just get them chocolate...some chocolate frogs, or maybe a lot of them.
 

3- Ginny & Colin- Chocolate Frogs
 

"Now for George and Fred. Oh of course I know what to get them, gift certificates for
Zonko's, they'll probably want more stuff from there."
 

4- George & Fred- Gift Certificates, Zonko's
 

"Now, let me think.....anyone else? I don't know, Oh well.....might as well get myself some
presents....but what. Oh it doesn't matter, I better order these things though. We're not going
to Hogsmeade until after Christmas."

"Oh no!!!, I'm late for potions!!"

She grabbed her list and stuffed it in her bag took her books, homework, and ran to potions
as fast as she could..

Hermione burst in the door, looked around for a seat, and sat quickly next to Neville.

"Oh yea that just reminds me," she said to herself, "I got to get something for Neville."

"Granger!, Why are you late." said Snape.

"Umm, I'm sorry Professor Snape, I lost track of time..."

"15 point from Gryffindor!"

"Uhhhhhh"

"And because you're late you're not going to be able to sit next to you're little friend"

"I'm not?"

"Don't talk back to me!" "You're going to sit next to Draco Malfoy!"

"Ohhh Noo," she said groaning.

"Yes, now go!"

"Fine"

"Okay class now we're going to be doing itching potions today........."

Hermione walked slowly towards where Draco was sitting and sat without saying a word.
She was surprised though, Draco didn't say anything either.

"Cut them carefully!"

"I am," said Draco.

"No you're not, look that one's bigger than this one"

"Sooo"

"Soo?, It matters if we're going to make this potion work! Snape said All the pieces have
to be cut into even pieces!"

"Uhhhh, Mudbloods!"

"What did you say!"

"Nothing"

"Put them in"

"I am"

"Well hurry up," said Hermione.

"Fine, here," said Draco dropping them in the potion quickly.

"Good"

So finally later on she leaves the class. While she's getting ready to leave Draco stops her
and gives her a note. She was about to say something but he left quickly...
