Prologue
Author's
Notes
To help explain
this story a little better, Nee and I chose to put up these author’s notes
to explain
what we are
doing exactly, where some ideas came from and who some of the original
characters are.
First off Nee
and I are big time role playing game fanatics, so of course we are doing
one for this.
However, since
it’s just the two of us taking on tons of character, we chose to write
it as one large
ongoing fanfic
to share with tons of people. We have our own website for it, but seeing
so many
fics on fanfiction.net,
we chose to also post it here.
We chose to
start the RPG in book two because it allowed us to feasibly add any original
characters
we wanted
that were students without getting them too much younger then the other
students. Though
we do play
with canon greatly, and have done so with some of the characters. Perfect
example is that
instead of
being in his fifth year, Oliver Wood is in his third year at Hogwart’s
and was named captain
his second
year, when Harry and them started. Fred and George are in the same year
as Oliver. We
did this so
we had as much time to play with them in the school as possible. So that
means we get to
write Oliver
during the Tri-Wizard tourney and deal with how he feels about >gasp<
NO QUIDDITCH
FOR A YEAR!
The pairings:
Draco/Hermione:
Well this was a duh based on the summary. This is one of my (Jilly’s) character
pairings.
I fell in love with the idea of Draco/Hermione while reading fics here.
I am building their
relationship
slowly, hence why there isn’t any smut yet. They need to build a friendship
first.
Harry/Autumn:
Autumn Malfoy is Nee’s creation. She is Draco’s younger sister. Some back
history
for her is
that she was not a greatly wanted daughter of Lucius Malfoy. Obviously.
Draco is her protector
from an abusive
father. He is abusive to them both because they aren’t the best in everything,
and he
tends to try
and be so more towards Autumn cause she is a girl. But Draco loves his
sister so he usually
takes her
punishments for her. Protecting her from her father’s problems. Autumn
is not the typical
Malfoy, whereas
Draco tries to be what his father is to please him, but Autumn will set
him straight.
Ron/Morgana:
Morgana is another of Nee’s. She was brought in at the end of the first
year to catch
up so that
she can be in the same class with everyone else. More of her history will
be revealed later
in the story.
If we tell you know, it spoils the surprise. >grin<
Fred/Marissa
& George/Alissa: Marissa and Alissa were a combined effort between
Nee and myself.
I write Marissa,
Nee writes Alissa. The idea behind them is that they are just as big of
pranksters as
Fred and George,
therefore perfect match. Marissa and Alissa’s family moved to England when
their
father was
transferred from America. The girls were allowed to come to Hogwart’s,
though grudgingly
in Snape’s
opinion. Snape worries because they were expelled from their American school
for blowing
up the potions
lab.
Oliver/Maria:
Maria is a Weasley. She is the cousin of the other Weasleys, but unlike
them she is not
a pure blood.
Her father married a muggle woman that he fell head over heels in love
with. Maria is
much like
Hermione in that she is a bookworm, but she isn’t seen as very friendly,
but she also has
been the brunt
of pranks, and tries to make herself invisible. She’s succeeded in that
except for pranks
he’s helped
with, Oliver doesn’t notice her till their third year when he needs tutoring
to keep playing
Quidditch.
This idea came from the previews of a Walk To Remember.
Ginny/Terrence:
Terrence is actually a canon character. Terrence is the same Terrence Higgs
that is
the Slytherin
Seeker in Book 1. I am also making him the same age as Oliver so that we
can play with
him more.
This is a relationship that won’t really happen for awhile. Too many things
we need to
establish
first, but Ginny will get a crush on Terrence, and he’ll have one on her
despite that he’s two
years older,
and there will be lots of thoughts, talking to others and bumping into
each other, but an
actual relationship
won’t happen for a bit.
Dumbledore/McGonagall:
Yes they are together, but you have to read to see just HOW they are
together and
who their daughter and two grandkids are. If you read the one part close
enough that
has them discussing
their grandkids, you probably will be able to figure it out. >grin<
Snape/Jennifer:
Snape is a nice guy in this, basically. Snape will greatly support Draco
and Hermione’s
friendship,
and he will even advise Draco to not be stupid. To follow his heart as
well, because you
don’t know
what you got till its gone. Snape was a Slytherin and in love with a Gryffindor
when he
was in school.
And it WASN’T Lily Evans-Potter. It was in fact someone much worse to make
James dislike
him. James’ younger sister Jennifer. It will be revealed later in the story
when Jennifer
shows up why
SHE didn’t have Harry instead of the Dursleys.
Rating: yes
it is rated NC-17, but we haven’t gotten to that part yet. Obviously. >grin<
However, it
will justly
have this rating. Right now, we figure that writing through Book 2 our
own way is allowing
us to do what
Book 1 did for everyone. It establishes our characters and the start of
what we are
doing before
moving on to other things.
I know a lot
of people have been wondering what in the world are we doing with cheerleading?
Well
while watching
Bring It On’s last major cheerleading sequence, Nee and I both wondered
how the guys,
specially
Ron, would react to seeing something like that. We also tried to figure
out who of the guys and
girls would
be cheerleaders. After realizing it really intrigued us, we thought it
was perfect to put in.
Competitive
cheerleading allowed us to put some characters together that we were wondering
HOW
to get them
together (mainly Ron and Morgana), but also Lockhart being the pansy… I
mean know it
all… I mean
worldly (cough) professor that he is, he would want to show off his “knowledge”
of this new
sport in honor
of the new American students (Marissa and Alissa). Yes well, we try and
find twists and
turns all
over, it’s what we live for in writing. (Canon? What’s canon?)
Like we’ve
said before, we hope you enjoy reading our story, and I hope that this
explanation makes it
just a bit
clearer. >grin<
