Chapter 14
Working on the Project

Again. She'd fucking kept him waiting again- twice in two days! Didn't the stupid twit know
that he was a Malfoy? Didn't she know that no one- very least of all some little Mudblood
bitch- made a Malfoy wait?

As if on cue, the door opened and Granger slipped into he classroom quietly. She appeared
much less feisty than she'd been previously that evening; in fact, she seemed a bit upset about
something. She didn't even look at him as she flung her bag onto the desk and slumped into
a chair beside him.

Draco stared at her for a moment before snobbily saying, "Do you make a habit out of
keeping others waiting?"

Granger glared at him for a split second. "Do you make a habit out of being a complete
jackass?"

"Actually, yes," Draco replied with a smirk. "I find it attracts women."

The brown-headed Gryffindor rolled her eyes into the back of her head. "You know, if
your ego was any bigger, I don't think it would fit into the school."

Draco was amused that she was so blind to her own overly-large ego. "Granger, how
can you talk about the size of my ego when you've been more than eager to tell anyone
who listen how smart you are since your very first day of school here?"

He was met with yet another deadly glare. "Don't fuck with me," she told him icily.

Draco just grinned; he enjoyed seeing how far he could push her. "Oh, but I thought that
that was the entire point of this little meeting."

Granger's cheeks took on a pinkish sort of hue, but she didn't sidestep the remark.
Instead, she said, "You already had your chance today."

Draco was surprised, of course, that she would seemingly turn him down. But he knew
that she would change her mind soon enough. And yes, he was looking forward to a
repeat of the previous night's events. "So, it's going to be like that, is it?"

"Yes, it is." The witch reached for her bag quickly and opened it. "We're already behind
in our project, and I've already told you that you're not going to fuck my grade up."

Draco secretly enjoyed the way she was trying to appear as though his mere presence
wasn't wreaking havoc on her libido. He knew that she was dying for a repeat as well,
so it was rather amusing that she was pretending to be so interested in Potions.

"Alright, then," he told her, reaching into his own bag. "The project is what we're here
for, after all."

He watched out of the corner of his eye as a slight look of disappointment covered her
face. She shook her head just barely as though ridding herself of a thought; he actually
wanted to know what that thought exactly was... But she quickly pulled out a piece of
parchment and a quill and set to work copying some information out a large book she
had brought with her.

When she didn't speak to him for several moments, Draco took it upon himself to
engage her in conversation. "So, have you checked up on the Golden Twins' project?
Been spending your evenings correcting their work?"

Granger looked rather annoyed at being interrupted, and without looking up, she
answered, "I haven't been correcting anything. I haven't even seen their project."

He was disappointed that she hadn't yelled at him for insulting her friends' intelligence,
but it seemed as though she knew that they were stupid and didn't care to deny it. "I'm
surprised they're still associating with you since they're obviously not getting anything
out of the deal these days. You can't save them from their own stupidity when you're
so busy with your own 'grades,' now can you?"

This got a rise out of her.

"At least I've got friends who talk to me for reasons other than my last name," she shot
back dangerously.

Draco laughed at this. "Yes, and I'm sure that your IQ had nothing to do with the
friendship that was formed between yourself and those two brainless idiots." He was
suddenly realizing that apparently Granger had, sometime in the past, had her own
doubts about the reasons Weasley and Potter were friends with her.

Granger glared at him. "I understand that you're jealous seeing as the only people who
associate with you are two dimwitted fools who've you got trained like a pair or attack
dogs and, of course, the occasional whore who wants to try and make a grab for the
Malfoy fortune."

Draco wasn't stupid. She acted as though he didn't know that the girls who flirted
incessantly with him only wanted to see exactly how close they could get to winning the
Malfoy name. Well, that and the fact that he did possess a rather expertise in bed, of
course. And she also acted as though he didn't know that Crabbe and Goyle were
nothing more than a pair of blubbering idiots. He had, after all, known the bastards
since he was a baby; he knew they were brainless. He knew all of this quite well.
"Contrary to the people you usually associate with, Granger, I am not stupid. I know
all of this, but at least I can admit it."

She was getting angry now. "Admit what, Malfoy? What exactly is it that I'm supposed
to be admitting?"

He laughed. "Oh, just that the only reason Potter and Weasley have put up with your
bitchiness all these years is the fact that you've been doing their homework for seven
years and managed to keep them from failing out of school."

Her furious glare almost turned into a hurt expression. Almost. She obviously was not
about to allow him the pleasure of knowing that he had gotten at her, so she said, "You
don't know shit, Malfoy. You should shut up about topics you know nothing about."

"Oh, please, Granger," he said almost laughingly. "Why can't you admit that you've been
used for your brain for all this time? They get to stay in school, and you get the pleasure
of being a part of the most fantastic little trio this pitiful excuse for a school has ever seen.
It's not as though you don't know that it's the truth."

Actually, truth-be-told, Draco himself didn't even believe that. He had spent seven
years observing the perfect little Gryffindors closely. Torturing them had, after all, been
his favorite pastime since the day he set foot onto the Hogwarts Express as an eleven
year old. He knew that they really were the closest of friends that three people could
possibly be, and he knew that Granger was as much a part of the horrid little team as
Potter or Weasley was. But she was getting so riled up by the little argument that he
wasn't about to give up on bothering her.

Granger had now abandoned her quill and parchment and had thrown them across the
table. She'd turned in her seat to look directly at Draco, and she was shooting him the
coldest of looks. "You're just jealous," she repeated her earlier statement. "It kills you
that I've got friends and you haven't. They do not now, nor have they ever, used me."

Draco smirked. Now he was really going to piss her off. "Oh, no? They have, Granger,
used you for your intelligence. And they've used you in other ways, too."

She didn't ask him what the other ways were, but it was obvious that she was curious
because her eyebrows rose just slightly before she said, "Piss off, Malfoy."

He laughed. "Weasley has used you the most, you know. Surely, by now you've realized
the way he looks at you is not just one of friendship. You aren't really that blind, are you?"

This caused her entire face to turn white. She wasn't nearly as quick on a comeback
as she normally was, and Draco wondered briefly what the reason for this was. "Just
shut up," she warned him.

Oh, there was no shutting up a Malfoy. "No, I think I'd rather not," he answered
haughtily. "You know, don't you? You know that Weasley wants to be much more
than just friends." He laughed. "And you just can't bear to break the poor little boy's
heart, can you? He's been through so much," Draco feigned sympathy. "The second
youngest of seven children in a family which could barely afford to feed him... Always
coming in second-best to his very own best friend- simply a shadow of the great and
wonderful Harry Potter... And now, in love with a girl who would rather give up her
virginity to her worst enemy than touch him... Such a sad little story."

If looks could kill, Draco surely would have been dead after his fake story of pity.
Granger seemed to be drowning in anger for a good forty seconds before she brought
her right hand up and let it slam against Draco's left cheek with a loud smack.

Surprise does not explain Draco's reaction to the little bitch's response. He raised his
own hand to his stinging cheek in shock and glared at the girl beside of him. "You little
bitch!" he exclaimed angrily.

Granger, suddenly appearing quite smug with herself, said, "Oh, now that hurts."

She was as much stupider than he had originally thought if she thought he was just going
to stand by after not one, but two of her little trio hit him in one day. "Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe you are just in much of awe as the little red-headed prick as he is of you. You
certainly take after him when it comes to getting your anger out!"

Granger grinned at this, much to Draco's surprise. "Oh, yes. How is your nose, Malfoy?
Much better, I hope."

He glared at her once again. "It's actually quite fine. Thank you," he said hotly.

Granger paused for less than a second before giving him a fake look of sadness, "Pity
that." And with that she raised her fist and swung it right in the direction of Draco's face.

He saw it coming, though, and grabbed her wrist right before she made contact with his
nose. Roughly, he stood up, yanking her up with him. "You're a bitch; you do know that,
right?" he asked as he dug his fingers into her wrist.

She looked at him with the most daring of looks before she took her free hand and tried
to pry is own hand off of her arm. When he tightened his grasp on her, she tried to kick
him, but he moved out of the way before she could and grabbed the free hand in his own.
She struggled against him roughly.

God, did she know how much she was turning him on?

He asked her as much by saying, "Do you realize how hot this is?"

She looked up into his eyes and he marveled for the thousandth time at the chocolate
color of her own. Angrily, almost as though she hated to admit it, she said, "Yes, damnit."

He grinned at her, his eyes flashing to her lips before meeting her own again. "And what
do you want to do about it?"

Granger appeared to be waging an internal battle with herself before she shook her head
quickly and said, "This." And with that she lifted herself onto the tips of her toes and pressed
her lips against his roughly.

The kiss was so spontaneous that Draco immediately dropped her wrists and wrapped his
arms around her waist, crushing her body to his before returning the kiss. He felt the arms
he had recently been in possession of, rise up and curl around his as she opened her mouth
and lightly bit down on his lower lip. He obliged her obvious request by opening his own
mouth and slipping his tongue out and into hers. He enjoyed the way his actions made her
moan from somewhere deep in her throat, and he enjoyed the way she tasted as his tongue
explored every crevice of her open mouth. Draco realized that his eyes had closed sometime
during their kiss, so he opened them suddenly and found himself staring right into her own.
She raised her eyebrows at him in a silent question of how a fight as heated as theirs could
turn into this. He shrugged and pulled her even closer as he let his hands drop from her waist
to her backside before pulling away for a breath of oxygen. Her hands remained around his
neck, and his own remained on her ass as they stared into each other's eyes.

They were both breathing a bit irregularly, but Draco managed to find his voice. "I thought
you wanted to work on the project..." He was being quite smug.

Granger just glared at him before sighing and giving in totally to her sexual urges. "God
damnit," she muttered before leaning up to kiss him yet again.

Well? Yes, I know it's a bit shorter than normal, but I was having such a major case of writer's block
that I'm just thankful I managed anything at all on this story! But since I made you wait so long, I
promise the next chapter will be good- get ready for the smuttiness I've become so well-known for...
