1999 Good year with the initiative you had in 1998 branching out. Just continue what you are doing, you are very lucky, but refrain from initiative in June.

2000 You feel like standing in the middle of a circular room, not knowing, which of the eight doors to choose.
You more or less lost your ‘north’ and may feel kind of unfocussed.
You probably had to make a forced decision in May that you found hard and did not like. When November comes you will burn some old ships and feel that you are heading forward again.
Suddenly you are back on track again and are steering your boat again. Next year will be good for business and career.
Try to keep things in perspective in 2000, watch your diet and do not take too much work on your shoulders. Careful in March and December 2000.

2001 Like said, this year will be good for your business if you are self-employed, but also your career will focus around new developments. Even if you are unemployed you will find that decision making and masterminding come easy to you. Organization comes natural and your self-discipline is greater than usual. You may feel an increased interest in writing and reading philosophical works, work hard and feel less attracted to social activities. Good for money opportunities.

1997 1997 was a very hard year for 8 Earth. You haven’t even recovered from your experiences in 1998, which again will be a hard year for you. Each Number has a top year and a down year in each nine year cycle, but 8 Earth people may experience two or three difficult years, all in a row. You are in the 1 Water year in 1997, then in 1998 your Number will be opposite Number 5 and although you will be in the 3 Wood House in 1999 – giving a new impulse – in 1999 you are opposite Number 3 that is opposite its own House as seen from the basic Luo Shu.

1998 Following the reasoning given above you will be pre-occupied with your recovery from losses in 1997.
Because your Number is opposite 5, people find it hard to communicate – even cope – with you. You’re on your own. You feel separated from a community or your normal social setting. Be careful around traffic. Be easy on your partner.

1999 You finally seem to be in the clear and ready to start a new venture. Hold back on initiative in July 1999.

2000 You may expand the initiative of 1999. 2000 is a positive year in which you may encounter romance or deepen your existing relationship. You are outward and sociable and enjoy to be around people.
If self-employed there is a lot of money for you coming from your promotional activities.
Do not stay at home, there are yet other opportunities out there.

2001 Quite a centered year after two years of outward movement and growth. It is again time to focus on your immediate environment, your relationship and the inner drive you feel toward material and spiritual relevances.
You may find it hard to change, even if you think change is necessary. Just contemplate and wait for major decisions to take effect next year.
You will have people come up to you for advice and guidance and your opinion is valued.
You will be the central focus within a certain community and act as its axis.

1997 Do you find it surprising, all the attention to your case? Your initiatives are fruitful and successful. This year you may spend money on your house to invest in it or surround yourself with new furniture.

1998 Whether you are employed or self-employed, you may need to hold on to your job or reputation even. You may experience great career difficulty, especially around February and November.
A year in which you should have many open spaces in your agenda and hold back on initiative. Relationships can become troublesome. Avoid any initiative that you want to last for longer. Keep to inner initiative, like contemplation, study or meditation. Reflect on your life’s fundamentals as some of your ideas may not be true anymore.

1999 The worst is over. Prepare yourself for a new initiative in 2000, but take it step by step. If 1998 was troublesome, this year you may concentrate on consolidation in the first half. Use the second half to save your Qi, clean your house, take care of your finances and save money for the new initiative in 2000. Be sure to surround yourself with books to study. You may catch a plane in June. Hold back on initiative in August.

2000 It is not in your genes to be impulsive, but here you are in a completely new environment. You have never been in a comparable situation before but ‘something’ drove you towards this new initiative and it is working out fine. Sometimes it pays to go on a hunch. While normally quite laid back on things, you seem to be in control this year and you meet more people than you are usually accustomed to.
This is a great year for your self-esteem and finance. In May you may reconsider your new initiative and environment again and move forward.

2001 Last year you entered a new environment and this year you may touch on some major business improvements, that will be branching out in all kinds of unexpected directions. Control over your environment is this year’s theme and you will find it easier than ever to work with people. It is possible that you will meet an ally. Be ready when that happens.

1997 You may experience some pretty significant changes this year. This year will be a true shift. You may burn old ships and you will see the meaning of the saying that we should not ‘take anything for granted’.
A few possibilities are that you move house this year, dramatically change your inner or religious outlook, end your relationship, suddenly change you.

1998 People around you may feel you are milder than normal, not just to others but towards yourself. You may also be more sociable and less monogamous. Opportunities seem to come your way, without you having to put much effort into it.

1999 Compare your experiences of 1936, 1945, 1954, 1963, 1972, 1981 or 1990 and get a taste for 1999.
Especially 6 Metal people should be careful when they are in the 1 Water House, because the opposite Number is 5, Number 5 being quite strong because it is being enhanced by the Fire phase of the Fire House. People probably can’t stand you this year so keep a low profile, your not very good company. Be advised that the end of a cycle is the start of a new cycle. Have an extra eye on September.

2000 Do your damage control, reconsider your situation and take it easy the first half of 2000. You need to consolidate and reflect on your diet, your daily structure and gain strength.
Prepare yourself for a new start next year. Take time off in July.

2001 After two years of relative inward Qi, this year you may feel you lack hands. Did you foresee the events for 2001 or are you faced suddenly with a tread of unexpected opportunities. Did you prepare or do you have to collect all your resources to be just in time stepping on your new boat and into this new burst of energy. In other words, new developments may come swift and will need all your organizational skills and planning efforts. A successful year in which you may take risks in business and private life. Some 6 Metals may take a plane trip. Make sure you spend time with your family and don’t overdo the work.

1997 This was an important year for romance, but any romance did not distract you from your course.
Quite a good year in which you established or even re-established your name, both privately and in business. Projects have been successful and you felt a hand in your back gently pushing you forward.

1998 Next year you will confirm that in hindsight nothing is the same as it used to be. This is your revolutionary year, in that it may change your entire outlook and environment.
Significant change in study, career or status, depending on your situation, but that cannot be overlooked.
As goes for all other Numbers, any change in the 8 Earth House may come with or without one’s consent.

1999 Whatever you took with you from the previous year, make the most of it this year. Do not hesitate on any idea or initiative, because your Number is highly strengthened by the Fire House. Be quite conservative on initiatives in October 1999.

2000 Be very careful around any documents and do not except credit from banks or any other institution.
Check all your insurance documents and do not buy anything on down payment.
If you have a child living in the house, he or she may announce the will to be more independent and may even leave the house, especially your daughter. Any drawback on finance will show in July.

2001 After a low in both relationships and finance, this year you’ll need to save up again. The money you lost last year weighed on your credit, which needs to be paid back and you may use the first half of 2001 to get back in control.
Your efforts will be focused around study.
It is not a good time for new ventures yet, but you’ll find yourself preparing new initiatives that will materialize next year. Somehow your support and loving care is needed in your direct environment.
Some 2 Earth’s may move residence or make an otherwise significant move.

You are back on track, but may experience troubles with your bones or respiration.
Your ideas are met with support from the environment, even financially.

1998 If you own your own company, this year – after some welcome improvements last year – you are back in business. You may take financial risk.

1999 A significant change in your relationship and love life. You will take up spiritual studies this year.
You feel opposed to someone more than usual. Any negative outcome of unforeseen change will sort itself out long before the end of the year. Bad for initiative: February and November 1999.

2000 You made some decisions last year, that will fruit in this year, yet you had to probably abandon a community or move away a bit from your group.
Although quite successful, this year you may feel distanced from your own ‘center’ and friends.
August may be particularly difficult and you will have to watch anything that reaches to you through the mailbox.

2001 You may feel strangely drawn between outward initiative and contemplation. You will find a friend and ally in computer work and it may well be that certain opportunities reach you through the internet.
You may anticipate several opportunities to move to another home, but when you do you need to think over all options.
You also need to plan any initiative well ahead and make sure they benefit you.

1998 Very good for your professional life, to a point even that you were chosen from a large group of applicants to the same job. You are being appreciated for your professional qualities and it seems that more than ever you are able to control yourself and your family. Watch your bones and lower jaw.
Usually quite outward and sociable, this year you may be perceived as more serious and less sociable.

1999 This year you may want to take extra care of business, because you are opposite your own House.
Perhaps due to your idealism, this is especially true for financial matters and you are inclined to spend money that will not be used in the way it was intended. You may harvest some opposite results.
You have a good feeling for interior design and presentation this year.
Watch your initiatives in March and December 1999.

2000 A decisive change in direction, quite unexpected and not anticipated on. You need a lot of adjustment and organization to cope with the new input and use all resources you got. All of a sudden you deal with people much younger than yourself and take in new ideas and perspective. Your health may need extra attention in September.

2001 Do you concur that 2000 came with some significant changes and decisive events that will largely ensure this year’s success and your outward direction. Great masses may be drawn towards you and there may even be romance from unexpected direction and financial gain. Your work will keep you away from home and you may come across competition. Keep an eye on your self-management and stay consolidated. The top of your success should have been reached in autumn, so as to allow you to prepare for the withdrawal in 2002.

1999 Your career is extended. Meaning you will be promoted when employed and ready to realize plans when your are self-employed. You have to still be careful in order not to become too tired.
Your natural feeling for sentiment is branching out with a sense of leadership and management skills.
You may surprise your environment with your strategic abilities. Careful in April 1999 and January 2000.

2000 You are in between financial decisions. On the one hand you can invest your money in your own plans, but some of the money will be spent in vain. A good year, but with some opposite outcomes.
Keep low profile in October.

2001 Some occurrences this year may be halting your developments in work and private life. You may be in between two directions, in between two communities and may find it hard to make up your mind. People may have difficulty finding you in the right mood to be approached for co-operation as you may be inclined to easily decline things. It is a great year to set out new paths.

Keep unnecessary environmental input at a distance and decide who and what you want to deal with this year. Be conservative with initiative in May 1999.

Working with the information in this article may greatly help you to translate Qi into events and translate events into Qi. This is quite an existential task as it will help us realize that the barrier between the invisible and visible world is non-existent.
