Significance of 3, 6 and 9

You will find 3, 6 and 9 years and months always in Ox, Dragon, Sheep and Dog.

Adding up rows of blue Numbers horizontally give 3, 6 and 9.

• Adding 1,4,7 you will get 12. If you add 1 and 2 you’ll get 3.

• Adding 2,5,8 you will get 15. If you add 1 and 5 you’ll get 6.

• Adding 3,6,9 you will get 18. If you add 1 and 8 you’ll get 9.

Ox, Dragon, Sheep and Dog are all Earth months as seen from the Earthly Branches used in Chinese astrology.

Also, the Luo Pan shows a Chinese year of 360 days.
The Luo Pan can be subdivided into 8 sections of 45 degrees.

The Number 45 is found by adding up 12, 15 and 18 = 45.

This shows significance of the cycle of nine combined with the cycle of twelve, whereas all blue Numbers would add up to 9, red Numbers would add up to 18 and green numbers add up to 18.

Blue Numbers:  1 + 4 + 7 + 2 + 5 + 8 + 3 + 6 + 9 = 9.

Red Numbers: 1 + 2 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 8 = 8 = 9.

Green Numbers:3 + 6 + 9 = 18 = 9.
