bio:

It was way back in 1997 when Sum41 was created.
In Ajax, Ontario (Canada), the then teenagers Deryck Whibley and Steve Jocz, first started the band.  Dave Baksh and Cone McCaslin would be requited to the band soon after.  The foursome would play their loud and energitc music around their local area, which attracted ALOT of attention.  Pretty soon, Sum41 signed on to the independent label Aquarius (in Canada), but longed to sign with Island Records (in the US).  In 200, their debut album 'Half Hour of Power' was released,  'All Killer, No Filler' was released soon after and it was their song 'Fat Lip' that caught the attention of the US.  Sum41 became a huge sucess  in the U.S, touring and making their third cd, 'Does This Look Infected?' (now out in stores).  So lets sum this all up, four teenagers from Ajax, Ontario, starting a band just for fun end up getting signed to record labels and become one of the most well-known  punk bands in the US today! phew! did u get all of that? the main point is Sum41 rocks!
so how the heck did sum41 get it's name?  well, here's your answer:  the band was formed 41 days into the summer....so sum (for summer) and 41 (for 41 days) = sum41

never thought of that, did u?
