From ISLAND AD-VANTAGES article The day before YESTERDAY by Clayton H. Gross: "...Thomas Robbins came from Boston to Deer Isle in 1775. He was evidently a man of considerable property and influence, being appointed coroner for the area. (At this time all that was required of a coroner was for him to be literate, sober, and of sound judgement. Medical doctors were few and far between then.) Robbins was known as "Coroner" Robbins. Upon his death his lot was inherited by the Buckminster family."
