Illumination Mask Frame

 For this tutorial you will need PSP7,
Paint Engine, Mask006, Ulead Art Texture,
a sparkle tube, and an image of your choice.
If you would like to use mine, right mouse click
on the image and choose save as and save
to your hard drive.

  Open up your image and the mask image.
Click on your image and choose Layer/
New Raster Layer. Using the bucket tool,
flood fill the new layer with a contrasting
color from your image. I used Color#50757D.
Now choose Effect/Plug-in Filters/Fantastic
Machines/Paint Engine and use the following
settings. I named mine IceCrystals and saved
the settings.

Next choose Effects/Texture/Blinds and use the
following settings.

Now choose Effects/Texture/Blinds and use these
settings.

Next choose Masks/New/From Image and
use these settings.

Next choose Masks/Delete and answer
yes when asked if you want the mask
merged into the current layer. Now
choose Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and
use these settings.
Now apply another drop shadow, same
settings, except Horizontal and Vertical -1.

Layers/Merge All.
Now choose Image/Add Borders and add a border
of 2 pixels. Using the magic wand, Tolerance 0,
Match Mode RGB, Feather 0, select the border.
Now choose Effects/Plug-in Filters/Ulead/Art Texture.
Click on edit, choose palette 5 and click OK.

Now choose Pattern 5 and click OK.

Selections/Invert. Now choose Effects/
3D Effects/Cutout and use the following settings.
Apply a second cutout, same settings except
Horizontal and Vertical -2. Selections/Select None.
Layers/Merge All.

Now choose Image/Add Borders and
add a border of 15 pixels. I made my
background color #50757D. Using the magic
wand, same settings as before, select the border.
Now apply Paint Engine and the 2 blinds effects
using the same settings as before. Now choose
Effects/Textures/Mosaic Glass and use the following
settings. Selections/Select None.

Now choose Image/Add Borders and add another
border of 2 pixels. Using the magic wand, same
settings as before, select your border. Choose
Effects/Plug-in Filters/Ulead/Art Texture and use
the same settings as before. Selections/Invert.
Now choose Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and
apply 2 cutout effects using the same settings
as before. Selections/Select None. Next add
a border of 20 pixels. I used color #50757D. Using
your magic wand, same settings as before, select
the border. Now apply Paint Engine and the 2 blinds
effects using the same settings as before.
Selections/Invert. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and
apply a drop shadow using the following settings.

Now apply another drop shadow same settings
except Horizontal and Vertical -2. Selections/Select None.
Now choose Image/Add Borders and add another
border of 2 pixels. Using the magic wand, same
settings as before, select your border. Choose
Effects/Plug-in Filters/Ulead/Art Texture and use
the same settings as before. Selections/Invert.
Now choose Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and
apply 2 cutout effects using the same settings
as before. Selections/Select None.
The following is optional, but adds a nice effect.
Choose Layer/New Raster Layer. Using the corners1
font, letter A apply the text with these settings.
Apply your favorite Blade Pro preset. I used
Dee's gold marble preset. I just love Dee's presets.
She has the best around.

Next choose Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and
use the following settings. Selections/Select None.

Now click on Layer 1 and choose Layers/Duplicate, then
Image/Mirror. Now choose Layers/Duplicate, then
Image/Flip. Next choose Layers/Duplicate, then
Image Mirror. Layers/Merge All. Add a sparkle tube
if desired. If you have PSP7, download my Illumination preset here.

Now choose Effects/Illumination Effects/ Lights and choose the B_IlluminationMask preset.
