For this tutorial you will
need an image of your
choice, or you can use mine. Right click and
choose save as and save to your hard drive.

You will also need Blade
Pro, the gold-glitter
preset, the fademask, Filter
Factory A, Ulead
Art Texture you can download here
and
the Dizzin Bow font.
Okay let's get started. Open up your image and
choose Layer/New Raster Layer. Using your bucket
tool, flood fill with color #B09C5F. Next choose Layer/
New Raster Layer and flood fill with the same color.
Now choose Effect/Plug-in Filters/Filter Factory A
and apply the pool shadow filter with the following
settings.
Next choose Effects/Texture
Effects/Blinds and use
the following settings.
Hide the background layer by
clicking on the glasses
on your layer palette. Click on layer one and choose
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Now choose Layers/ View/All.
Click on the merged layer and choose Effects/Texture Effects/
Mosaic Antique. Use the following settings.
Next choose Masks/Load from
disk and click on
the fademask and then click open to apply.
Next choose Masks/Delete and answer yes
to the question would you like this mask merged
into the current layer. Now choose Layers/Merge/
Merge All.
Choose Image/Add Border and
add a white
border of 14 pixels. Using the magic wand,
Match Mode RGB, Tolerance 0, and Feather 0,
select the border. Next choose Effects/Plug-In
Filters/Flaming Pear/Blade Pro and choose the
gold-glitter preset. Now apply a pool shadow
using the same settings as before. Next choose
Effects/Texture Effects/Mosaic Antique and use
the same settings as before.
Now choose Selections/Invert.
Next
choose Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow
and use the following settings. Apply another
drop shadow, same settings except Horizontal
and Vertical -2. Selections/Select None.
Next choose Image/Add Border
and add a
border of 4 pixels. Using the magic wand, same
settings as before, select the border. Now choose
Effects/Plug-In Filters/ Ulead/Art Texture. Click on
the Edit button.
Next click on Palette 5 and
click OK.
Now click on pattern number
5 and click OK.
Next choose Effects/3D Effects/Drop
Shadow
and apply a drop shadow using the following
settings.
Now choose Layer/New Raster
Layer. Click
on your font tool and using the following settings
apply a dingbat font. I used Dizzin Bows, but
you can use whatever looks good with
your image. I used a lower case p for
the bow I used.
Next choose Effects/Plug-In
Filters/Flaming Pear/
Blade Pro and apply the gold-glitter preset. Now
choose Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the
following settings.
Choose Layers/Merge All and
that's it. Another golden mask effect!
For the image below, I added a border of 20,
selected the border, applied the blinds effect
to the border, inverted the selection and
applied 2 drop shadows. I then added a
border of 2 and applied the art texture filter
then added a drop shadow to the border.
