Queer as Folk
Brian/Justin
By Ro & HannahKelli
There is the sound of laughter as two 12 year old kids run around in the
snow-filled park. The blonde haired boy hurled a snowball at his dark-skinned
female playmate. The snowball whizzed by her and ended up accidentally hitting
a tall hazel eyed man in the back of his black leather jacket.
"Damnit!" The guy said, turning to face the two kids. "Watch it,
Kid!" He growled to the blonde kid.
"Sorry, Sir." The blonde kid said, lowering his head a bit. Cries out
when he's hit from behind with a snowball by his friend.
"Damn kids." The guy muttered as he started to brush the snow off his
jacket.
"You're so dead!" The blonde kid cried out and took off after his
friend, tackling her into the snow.
The two kids stare at each other before bursting into a fit of giggles. The guy
watched the two silently, a hint of a smile gracing his lips. The blonde sat up
and shook the snow from his hair as his dark skinned friend started to make a
snow angel. Grinning, the blonde dumped a huge pile of snow onto his friend and
then took off running.
"That's cold, you jerk!" The girl cried out at the blonde. She made a
snowball and hurled it at the blonde, but accidentally hit the guy square on
the chest. "Oops. Sorry, Sir!" She cried out.
The blonde came up beside her and started to giggle when he saw what his friend
did.
"You two should be more careful." The guy said, brushing the snow
off.
"Yes, Sir." The two said in unison.
"And stop calling me Sir." He told the kids, folding his arms across
his chest.
"What do you want us to call you then?" The blonde child asked.
"Brian. My name is Brian." He said.
"Oh. I'm Daphne and this is my best friend, Justin." The girl smiled.
Brian nodded. "Hey there."
"You wanna play with us?" Daphne asked.
"I don't think so, Kids." Brian said with a slight smirk.
"C'mon, Brian, don't be such a prude." A blonde woman said as she
dumped snow down the back of Brian's jacket with a grin.
"Lindsay!!" Brian screeched, shaking the snow out of his jacket.
"Oh, that's it!" Brian growled as he tackled a giggling Lindsay into
the snow.
Lindsay laughed as she shoved snow in Brian's face, trying to get him off of
her. She started to laugh harder as the two kids pelted Brian with snowballs to
help her fend him off. Grinning, Brian turned and started to tickle Daphne's
sides, chuckling as the adorable girl wiggled away, her giggle still going.
"I can't believe I'm playing in the snow with two kids." Brian said,
looking to Lindsay. "Make that three kids."
"It's fun though." Lindsay grinned.
The sound of coughing caught Brian's attention. He watched as Justin sat on a
nearby bench, coughing hard as he tried to catch his breath.
"Do you need your inhaler, Justin?" Daphne asked, pulling the said
item from her jacket pocket.
"Yeah, are you okay?" Brian asked, sitting beside Justin.
"I'm okay." Justin said. "I just need to rest a bit." He
smiled to Brian.
"He's got asthma. The doctor says he'll grow outta it. Whatever that
means." Daphne said with a shrug.
"Shit, we gave the kid a heart attack." Brian said, looking to
Lindsay.
Lindsay smiled and stood up, dusting off her clothes as she walked over to the
three.
"We gotta go, Brian. We're meeting Michael and the guys at the Diner,
remember?" Lindsay said.
"Yeah." Brian rose and looked to the kids. "Bye, bye
Kiddies." He said, walking off with Lindsay.
"He was so cool!" Daphne giggled.
"Yeah, he was." Justin said and tackled his friend once more into the
snow, their giggles echoing in Brian's mind as he walked away.
