"What is Hitting the Gym all about, anyway?"

Ah yes, well, it's understandable that the comic might be a little confusing at first, especially to those who don't know much about Pokemon. This comic is my way of tring to look at the world of Pokemon in a different way. While most stories based in this world seem to revolve mostly about people leaving home and travelling from place to place to find excitement, most of the storytellers seem to forget that this world and the creatures in it are exciting enough, and you don't have to go far to find some weird and interesting events and people going by.
So, what kind of lifestyle, other than adventuring across the land looking for battles and badges, friends and rivals, would offer a unique assortment of excitement of it's own? Why, a Pokemon gym, of course, one of the locations that see hundreds of these adventurous types running to it, trying to prove their worth against relatively powerful trainers and their apprentices, who either are beaten, sometimes not so humbly, or end up whipping the floor with the poor sap who walks through the gym's doors. The badges earned from winning these fights not only shows your skill at leading your Pokemon, but buys you a ticket to go up against the best and brightest official trainers, who, when defeated as a whole, will get your name written in the books as one of the greatest trainers there are.(Sorry to those who know all this, but some people who will be checking this site out might need a little clarification. ^-^) This is the place where this story shall begin, and unlike others, stay. By remaining in one spot in a world where everyone seems to be moving, we can see the people and experience the events without leaving town every other day, thus offering a stage that jumps from a relaxed walk to a breakneck pace at the drop of the hat as those local or otherwise bringwith them challenges of many kinds. And so, as we first follow a lone Pokemon trainer into the doors of this shadowy, unknown Gym, I hope that, by the end of this story, you all get to walk away from here with a better idea of the life behind those walls where many have gone and left, but only a rare few have stayed behind.
