Three treasures are stolen from the spirit world. Yusuke returns to school for the first time since his resurrection, and skips gym class. Yusuke has a flashback of Botan giving him the first Spiritual Detective item, the Spiritual X-Ray Lens. Yusuke is accused of theft in school by Principal Iwamoto. Koenma tells Yusuke to find the stolen treasures from the Spirit World. Yusuke finds the stolen objects from school in Iwamoto's pocket. Koenma tells Yusuke about his new ability, the 'Spirit Gun' which manifests kinetic energy as a ray from his right index-finger. The Spirit Gun can only be used once daily at Yusuke's current energy level. Koenma describes the three stolen objects for Yusuke. The Ghost Slayer sword turns a human into an evil spirit. The Mirror of Utter Darkness grants a person their hearts desire on the full moon. The Ruffian Sphere absorbs a human's spirit. It can absorb a child's spirit the easiest. Yusuke sees a child's soul being stolen and follows it to Gouki. Yusuke has one week to recover the stolen treasures before King Enma returns. Yusuke follows Gouki and meets all three of the ghosts at once. Kurama leaves the other two, and Hiei follows him. Yusuke fights Gouki.
