Koenma gives Yusuke another chance to resurrect. Yusuke has twenty-four hours to get a human to breath life into his body. Otherwise he has to wait 50 years before he has another chance to resurrect. He can tell three people through their dreams that he will be resurrected tomorrow. Kuwabara is horrified by his dream and skips school. Keiko's mom is in the hospital. Yusuke's mom, Atsuko, spends the day drinking. Time starts to run out without anyone resurrecting Yusuke. Botan uses Keiko's mom to tell her to kiss Yusuke before midnight. Keiko kisses Yuskuke as the clock strikes midnight and Yusuke is resurrected. The next day, Yusuke notices that the leader of a group from Kasanegabuchi Jr. High has horns. The leader is holding Kuwabara's cat, Eikichi, hostage. A demon, Jackie, crawls out of the leader's mouth and Yusuke catches him. Botan appears and tells Yusuke that he must be a Spiritual Detective, with Botan as his assistant.
