Bluey was a country bloke,
raised up the tablelands, He wasn't handsome, tall or rich, he was just a handyman. |

He knew his way around a horse,
and farming was his game, He'd mastered tools of country folk, that was his claim to fame. |

When something needed fixing,
Bluey was their port of call, Bikes and cars, and this and that, they knew he'd fix them all. |
Now Bluey had a cousin,
and his name was 'Slicker' Ned, He never knew the country life, as he was city bred. |
When Bluey got his letter,
asking him to lend a hand, He needed Bluey's expertise, the best in all the land. |
He packed his swag and off he set,
and hitched a ride to town, He'd never seen the city, so he thought he'd look around. |
Ned was soon the perfect host,
and when the work was done, He said, "Come on, me country cus, let's go and have some fun". |
He showed his cousin Bluey,
just how city folk could play, He took him here, he took him there, till sunset every day. |
Last morning as they started out,
Ned smiled a secret smile, He'd organised the thrill of thrills, he'd send him off in style! |
And as they neared the area,
he gave his arm a thump, "Here you are, me country cus, today we BUNGEE JUMP" ! |

Now Bluey was a bit afraid,
but didn't let it show, With mounting trepidation, he then simply said, "let's go". |
They measured Bluey, head to foot,
and weighed him on the scales, And did their calculations, just like undertaker sales. |

They tied his ankles firmly,
then they stood him on the brink, and Slicker Ned just shoved him off, he had no time to think. |
And as he plunged on downward,
his courage levels fell, With terror gnawing at his soul, they all heard Bluey yell. |

"Flamin' strueth"! and "Stone the crows",
he hollered loud and clear, He tumbled headlong down and down, still screaming out in fear. |
"I'll get you, Slicker Ned" he cried
"you'll have a tale to tell, You're standin' there and laughin' while I'm fallin' down to hell"! |
Now when it was all over,
and he looked for Slicker Ned, Nowhere could he see him, if he'd found him...he'd be dead! |
Now somewhere in the country,
there are tales that go around, That a swaggie called 'Old Laughing Ned' had wandered into town. |
He tells a tale of years gone by,
when he was just lad, Of how he showed his country cus, the bungee jumping fad. |

But the tale is never finished,
as he crumples on the floor, And laughs until he passes out, and they help him out the door. |
And in the tablelands they tell,
how Bluey took a trip, And came back inches taller, but he'd never let it slip, |

How he came to get that extra growth,
and how he just can't cope, And goes an ashen kind of grey when he sees a piece of rope. |
