Bamboo Shoot Biscuits The mere thought of a bamboo shoot flavored biscuit made us shudder. Wes immediately thought that they were gross. They smelled pretty bad (patrick). These biscuits are rectangular in shape and tiny black spots on them. I picked these out because of the bamboo shoot flavor. They weren't that bad after all. Wes, Patrick, and I concluded that they tasted just like Triscuits but they just smelled. They also have a less than stellar aftertaste. These things get a D! You can only just eat one (patrick). |

Chocolate Flute Wafers The box is extremely cool. We spent quite a bit of time discussing the importance of cool packaging. It would have gotten an A+ based on the box alone. We also wondered if they made noise. We were disappointed when we found that they didn't make noise. They're called FLUTE WAFERS. They should make noise. They were very good nonetheless. It tasted like toast dipped in chocolate milk (patrick). Wes has had these before and knew that they'd be good. Definitely an A. It came in a cool box! It could have had the A+ if it made noise... |

Custard Wafer Rolls On these, there's a picture of the package on the package. Strange. After we opened it, Wes said that this is no longer a team effort. He thought these things smelled like ass. The smell was overwhelming. Patrick said it made his nose burn a little. It smelled like butter or some kind of dairy product that was way past the expiration date. The filling in the middle is what gave off the awful stench. To say that we were scared to eat them is an understatement. Wes did not eat one because he's a big wuss. I took one bite and immediately spit it out. Patrick said that the texture was like "fluffy butter." They fell apart as soon as you put them in your mouth. The filling was powdery (allan). I almost hurled (allan). GROSS. F-. This stuff is death. Why would anyone make a product so horrendous? N |

Hello Panda These are little chocolate filled cookies with pandas on them. Panda cartoon prints on the cookies? (sylvia). So cute! (wes). We were intrigued by the pictures of the pandas on them. Some were in bowls and some had umbrellas... It's a chocolate filled cookie. These things can't be that bad. These cookies did not disappoint with the chocolate center. Wes, Patrick, and I thought that they were really good. The combination of the buttery cookie and the richness of the chocolate is heavenly (sylvia). Sylvia loves this stuff. She can go for multiple boxes. Hello Panda gets a B+. They make a nice snack since they come in little bags. The box is cool too (patrick)! |

Pudding Pocky Pocky is pretty well known. We've all had it before. I grabbed this yellow box because I have never seen this flavor before (allan). Shari did not know that this flavor even existed. It smelled like raisins (allan), but other people say maple syrup (wes) or coffee (patrick). It's a pretzel stick with this yellow coat of something on it. At the end of the stick, there is a little swirl of brown. We couldn't agree on what this Pocky smelled like so we couldn't agree on what it tasted like. One said raisins, one said coffee, and the other said maple syrup. The stuff definitely has that maple taste to it (sylvia). One thing that we did agree on was that these things were really sweet. It gets a B because it was too sweet. Shari liked them more than I did. She said "It pleases my taste buds as well as my eyes." Sylvia liked the fact that the box was made from recycled paper. Makes your mouth happy and is environmentally friendly (sylvia). |

Taro Root Sandwich Taro root has made me and my brother hurl before (allan). Wes was scared after I told him my story about taro ice cream and car sickness. Anyways... These things look like a couple of Ritz crackers held together by some purple paste. They smelled really sweet and had a coconut-like smell to them. The consensus was that these things tasted plain. They were dry and plain, almost like plastic (patrick). They were also chalky (wes). I thought they were buttery and sweet (allan). C. Way too plain. |

Yan Yan Yan Yan ranks up there with Pocky in terms of popularity. These are the pretzel sticks that require you to dip them into some sort of frosting. I've only seen chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla (allan). The frosting looks waxy but they smell good! "Some assembly required?" - Wes The compartment for frosting isn't deep enough so we had to do multiple dips. Wes felt that these things weren't very "user-friendly." The sticks are way greasy (sylvia). Yan Yan is always reeeeally good though. Some might prefer other flavors. Sylvia didn't care much for the strawberry. Whoohoo! A! Although that these things require some work, it's totally worth the extra effort. Sylvia gives strawberry Yan Yan a D.

Meiji Wheat Crackers I saw these in the cookie aisle and just could not resist. The mushroom shape totally caught my attention. On the back of the package, there's a cartoon bear and rabbit hugging big mushrooms. The cap of the mushroom was all chocolate. The "stem" or whatever was kind of boring and dry. When eaten together, it's choco-goodness. You have to be careful when you hold on to these. The chocolate melts really fast. A. The drug inference and chocolate is a winning combo!

Meiji Zoo Land Printed Biscuits This was another cool box that caught my attention. I thought it would be like most of the other cookies...filled with something chocolately. Talk about disappointment. These had zero filling. They were flat, boring cookies. They had cutesy animals printed on them. These things tasted like animal crackers but not so sweet. Sometimes they were even kind of salty. They're kind of greasy too. They made my mouth dry and yeah... they were boring. C+. Tons of animals in a box...even a cock! |
