Function Areas

The clearest distinguishing feature of different types of lodging properties is size and mix of their function space-meeting and banquet rooms, reception and exhibit spaces, small conference rooms.
The function areas are grouped together in a location easily accessible from the lobby. Sufficient restrooms and phones fax machines, photocopying machines for the public are included. All the function areas are in the ground floor and the ceiling height is a little larger than the first floor.



Meeting room:

The hotel in Alumni Center is considered to be built for the guests that visit METU in order to join the meetings planned in either METU or the other meetings in Ankara. There will be a meeting room in the hotel for the guests. Meeting room will be built for 15 people. The main items that we decide to be included in a meeting room are as follows:
* Table
* Chair
* Board
* Board markers
* Video-player
* Projector
* Telephone
There will be personnel staff related with the scheduling of time regulation of meeting room. Each group who plan to make meetings will tell their meeting plan to the personnel staff in order to determine the time of meeting.
A service that includes drinks and some aperitifs will be made to the meeting group at the beginning of the meeting.

Internet Room:

There will be an internet room in the hotel considered to be built at Alumni Center, Visnelik. Internet room will include 5 personnel computers that are connected to a main server. Personnel computers will have the following main properties in starting position:
* Pentium 3-350
* 64 MB Ram
* 48*CD Driver
* 4.1 GB Hard Disk
Also there will be one laser printer and one scanner in the internet room. One of the 5 personnel computers will be connected to scanner and will be only used for scanning operation while the other 4 personnel computers will be used personally and will be connected to printer. All of the computers will also be connected to internet for research studies.
The computers will be updated periodically each year in order to catch up the technological improvements.
There will be a consultant in the internet room. For using a computer, the customer will firstly make reservation by recording his name and his telephone number unless there are not currently unused computers. By this way customer will not wait standing in a queue. When a computer becomes free, consultant will call the customer. Each customer has a limit of 1 hour of using computer if there are other customers waiting for.
