***Nine Months Later*** Maria is running around in her bedroom putting the finishing touches on her make up and clothes for graduation. “Sweetie, are you ready yet? I have Belle and Xander ready and Max just called from his cell and said everyone is waiting for you at the Crashdown.” “Mom, I’m hurrying but I look like crap. Belle kept me up almost all night long crying.” Maria said finally walking out of her room. “Maria you look wonderful. Wait till Max see you he will be speechless.” Amy said. “Thanks mom for watching Belle and Xander while we go out after graduation.” “Not a problem honey, I love to spend time with my grand babies.” “I think I might kill Max for not being here to help out. I mean I’m stressed enough about graduation but our wedding is 2 months.” “Max is just as nervous as you are honey. He talks to your dad about all the time. He doesn’t want to worry you about it. Oh yeah about the wedding who is the best man and maid of honor?” “Kyle is the Best Man and Isabel is the maid of honor. Alex and Michael are the groomsmen and Tess and Liz are brides maids.” “That’s what I thought. We still have to get their dresses but get out of here will talk about it tomorrow when you come and get the kids from my house.” “Bye Mom I love you.” Maria said as she walked to her babies and gave them some kisses. ***Twenty Minutes Late at Crashdown*** As Maria walked into the Crashdown she saw everyone gathered at their usual booth. “Sorry I’m late.” Maria said walking up to the table and gave Max a kiss. “Hey honey, sorry I left so early but I had to pick Alex and Isabel at my house while my dad was out.” Max said giving Maria another kiss. “Okay you I’ve seen enough.” Michael said with a frown on his face. “Like you and Liz aren’t the same way. I mean I thought we were bad when we dated but man was I wrong.” Maria joked which made Liz checks turn bright red “Maria we are not that bad.” Liz said embarrassed. “Oh yes you two are.” Alex said “Oh and you have room to talk.” Liz said. “Hey we all are all over our boyfriends all the time.” Isabel said “Actually you guy have boyfriends I have a fiancee.” Maria said with a huge smile. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know. You should live at my house. Your wedding is driving the people I live with insane.” Kyle said “Kyle it isn’t that bad, I mean it mostly is Jim driving everyone crazy.” Tess said “I wouldn’t go that far. I mean your right up there with him and Amy. Anyways we have to get going to the school for graduation.” Kyle added before Tess could reply. “Yeah we should get going.” Max said standing up and pulling Maria to him before he started for the door. “Who is driving with whom?” “Tess and I are riding with you and Maria. Isabel, Alex, and Liz are riding with Michael.” Kyle said “Sounds good to me.” Max replied as he walks out of the Crashdown towards his Jeep. “Max we need to talk later about getting a new car.” Maria said. “My Jetta isn’t gonna last very much longer and I’m not putting Xander and Belle in this jeep.” “Couldn’t we just get rid of the Jetta and keep the Jeep?” Max asked “Um guys why don’t you fight about it after we graduate.” Kyle said walking up behind Maria and Max. ***Later at the Graduation*** Everyone is sitting in their sits waiting for the boring graduation to get over. Maria looks down at her watch to see what time it is 6:15. Then she looked to her left to see her brother Kyle, she grabs his hand as he smiles at her. She then looks to her right and looks down to Alex who is also looking at her so she gives him a huge smile, which he returns. They are finally getting to the people with last names with “C”. Then she looks up towards Isabel and her fiancé Max sitting next to each holding hands just like her and Kyle. She looks over to where Michael and Tess are sitting next to each other. Then she looks over to where Liz is sitting and Liz also look at Maria so Maria gives her a smile which see returns. Maria starts to listen to her Principal calling out their names. “Isabel Evans, Maxwell Evans.” She watches as her soon to be husband walks across the stage and see that he is looking at her and mouths I LOVE YOU to her but before she can say it back his off the stage. “Michael Guerin, Tess Harding.” I can’t believe I’m graduating today. I mean I didn’t get back to school until November after I had my babies. If it hadn’t been for everyone helping me out I wouldn’t be here right now. “Elizabeth Parker.” I always thought that Liz would always be my friend I told everything to that I wouldn’t be able to trust some else with everything but now I have Isabel instead of Liz. I actually think I’m closer Isabel then I was to Liz. “Maria quit day dreaming it is almost our turn to walk across that stage.” Kyle whisper in her ear “Wow I can’t believe it Kyle. WE are graduating today.” Maria said “Yeah I know but lets go. Our names are really soon.” Kyle said as he and Maria stood up and walked towards the stage. “Kyle Valenti, Maria Valenti.” Kyle went first then Maria followed but she slowed down and looks at to Max and mouthed back to him I LOVE YOU TOO then continued to walk towards Kyle waiting for her off stage. “Alexander Whitman.” As Maria got off stage she turned to watch Alex walk across the stage where he looked out to Isabel and gave her a smile. When Kyle and Maria finally reached their seats the principal was done calling out everyone’s name. So they all stood up and the Principal said. “Will everyone please move your tassel from left to right.” Everyone did as he asked “You are now graduated. Congratulation.” Twenty minutes later they were all standing together getting their pictures taking. “Max, Kyle, Maria, and Tess could I get the four of you to stand together I want to get a picture of all my kids.” Amy said “Sure mom.” Kyle said as he grabbed Tess’s hand and pulled her to him. “Mom, how many more picture are there going to be.” Max whined while grabbing Maria and kissing her. “Quit whining Max or she make us take more.” Kyle said Finally they stood next to each other and got their picture taken. “Liz, Isabel, Tess and Maria your turn.” Jim said “I hate this crap.” Isabel said to Maria “I do too.” Everyone thought all the pictures were done until Mrs. Evan’s asked if Max and Maria would grab Xander and Bell so she could get a picture of the happy family together. “I thought we were done with the damn pictures. I’m getting hot in this robe.” Max complained as he walked over and grabbed his son from his Uncle Michael who always seemed to end up with him. “I thought so too but at least it is of our family.” Maria said as she grabbed Belle from Auntie Isabel. “Yeah I know.” Max said with a huge smile. “That sounds really cool. Our family. I can’t believe how much has changed in the past year and a half.” “I know a lot has changed but it changed in the best possible way.” Michael added. “Okay I didn’t think is was the best possible way until you had your babies.” “Max if you think getting these pictures are bad wait till your wedding. There is ten times more.” Jim said. “I know.” “But I have two months to prepare for those plus that is different. I’m getting married to the best women and mother ever.” “Max and Maria.” Everyone turned towards whom had just called his name and stopped dead. Michael walked over to Max and grabbed Xander from him. Isabel took Belle from Maria afraid of what was going to happen next. After Isabel and Michael grabbed the babies Maria grabbed a hold of Max’s hand to make sure he didn’t do something stupid. “Is there something I can help you with Philip?” Max asked in a civil voice. When Philip didn’t say anything Max went on. “I mean I haven’t seen or talked to you in a year and half and now you want to talk. You were the one who disowned me.” Max asked as he voice turned cold and he stepped forward to the man he use to call his father. “Max, calm down and don’t make a scene here.” Maria said “Not to make a scene Maria. How can you even be near this man? Don’t you remember what he said about you, because I can.” Max said while he pulled away from Maria when he started to yell. “You of all people she be sticking up for me not telling me not to cause a scene. He might have disowned me I can and have handled it but when he disowned me he gave up all rights to talk to me and my children again.” “Max calmed down this isn’t Maria fault.” Jim said as he walked towards Max and Maria and he saw the tears in her eyes. “Max, if you want to yell at someone yell at me. Maria doesn’t deserve it.” Philip said as he stepped forward. “It was me who caused all this.” But Max never quit looking at Maria a look of disgust. Maria couldn’t handle it anymore and turn and ran to the jeep once she was away from Max she let more tears come. “Max what the hell is your problem. All Maria wanted was for you to take it somewhere else. Where there isn’t all these people around.” Isabel said before she went after Maria followed by Tess and Liz. “Max, I thought you were better then that man.” Michael said as he followed the girls. “Max…” Was all Kyle could get out before Max lost it. “I was just trying to keep my family safe.” Max said as he let the tears fall, then he ran. “Max where are you going stop.” Amy yelled but it didn’t help Max was gone. “What the hell were you thinking? Why would you do that in front of all these people and on the day they graduate?” Jim said with anger in his voice while turning to Philip. “This was suppose to be a happy day for them now look what happened.” “I didn’t mean for this to happen but I miss my son. I can’t do this anymore. I haven’t been the same since I told him that.” Philip said “It took you a year and a half to figure that out. You missed out on seeing your grandchildren born. Max and Maria are so happy together. Max used to talk to me about how much he missed not having you in his life but that changed when the babies were born. He told me that he doesn’t understand how someone that says they love you with all their heart can just disown them like you did.” Jim said with more anger. “I will not let you ruin these two Philip. They belong together, Michael and Liz even forgave them. Max is like my son, he lived with me for almost six months and I don’t understand how you could do that. He is the greatest kid, they made a mistake but he took the responsibility like a man.” “Jim honey calm down. Max wouldn’t want this. We need to go find him and Maria. Diane could you get the babies from Michael and Isabel and take them back to Maria’s and Max’s place, I’ll give you the keys. Philip I think you should stay away from my daughter and Max for awhile.” Amy said “Amy I will do that. Philip just go home. I have my own car.” Diane said as she walked towards the parking lot. Meanwhile at the Jeep with Maria Maria is sitting in the passenger seat crying when she felt someone’s hand on her shoulder so she looked up and their stood Isabel with Belle. “Isabel did you see the look he gave me. I was just trying to get him to take somewhere else. I totally agreed with him, I just didn’t want another scene again. I’m already talk of the town because of Belle and Xander.” Maria cried, then she grabbed Belle. “Max was just upset. I don’t think he meant anything to you Maria he loves you more then he loves himself.” Isabel said looking around for everyone else. “Isabel, he has never yelled at me or looked at me like that. The worst part was that everyone saw it.” Maria said as she wiped the tears away. “Maria, It’s going to be okay. You and Max just need to talk. You should walk back over there and talk to him.” Liz said “I can’t face him right now I just want to go home and be alone.” Maria said “Maria, I think you should go talk to him.” Tess said “It is no use to go talk to him he took off.” Kyle said walking up behind them. “He said he was just trying to keep his family safe. Then started crying and took off on the run.” “Isabel I could hurt your father for this right now.” Michael said through gritted teeth, while holding Xander tight. “You have to wait in line to get to him. When I was on my way over here my dad started in on your dad Isabel and he wasn’t a happy.” Kyle said “Where did he run to Kyle?” Maria asked worried because Max never runs. “I don’t know he ran off in the opposite direction that everyone else did.” “Kyle why didn’t you follow him.” Maria asked squeezing Belle tighter to her. “I didn’t think he want anyone to follow Maria so I came to take you to find him. Is mom and dad still going to baby-sit after this incident.” “Yes but no, your mom isn’t going to watch the babies.” Mrs. Evans said walking up to them. “I am going to take them back to your house Maria and watch them. Then your mom is going to pick them up after they find Max.” “Thanks Mrs. Evans. Belle and Xander’s diaper bags are in the Jeep.” Maria said. “I have your house keys. I will see you later then.” Meanwhile with Max What was I thinking, I know Maria wasn’t sticking up for my dad. Isabel was right she just didn’t want to cause a scene so people would take about us some more. I have never yelled at Maria before. The look on her face was horrible. What was I thinking? I need to find her and explain that I wasn’t giving her that look but I couldn’t turn my face my eyes were locked on her expression the hurt in eyes and then the tears. When I saw the tears my heart broke in to pieces. ***Two Hours Later*** Maria is driving the Jeep around Roswell trying to figure out where Max went. Just as she is about to turn around to go back to her house she see a figure walking down the street. So she drives towards it and sees that it is Max. She pulls the Jeep over, turns off the engine and jumped out. “Max, please stop.” Maria said as Max stopped and turned around but didn’t say anything. So Maria walked over and stood in front of him and grabbed his hands. “Max, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything. I just was trying to think about all the people around us. I wasn’t disagreeing with what you were saying to your dad.” “Maria, I’m so sorry.” Was all Max could get out before he started crying again. Maria pulled him to her. “Max honey it is okay.” “No Maria it isn’t. I’ve never yelled at you before. The look on your face was so horrible. I can’t get it out of my mind. Then you started to cry. I couldn’t handle it but I was to angry that I couldn’t show you.” “Max, I was a little shocked myself when you yelled at me but that wasn’t what made me cry. It was the look that was on your face. You looked at me like you were disgusted with me.” Maria finally letting the tears fall. “Maria I would never be disgusted with you. I was disgusted that my father would just show up like that but I couldn't break my eyes off yours once I saw the hurt in your eyes then you cried and you know what that does to me.” Max said as he pulls her away a little so he can look down at her. “Maria you’re my life, I don’t know what I would do with out you. You made my life complete.” “Ditto!” Was all Maria could get out before Max put his lips on hers for a passionate kiss. About five minutes later Maria pulled away. “Max we have got to stop. No sex until we are married. Remember? It was both of our idea. I mean it is only two months. I mean we have gone a year and half without it we can wait two more months.” Maria said. “I know but you know how hard it is for me to be able to sleep in the same bed with out sex especially since I know how great it is to make love to you.” Max complained. “Two months. No more pregnancy before we are married. Plus I think we should go find our friends and have some fun tonight while my mom and dad have the babies.” “Sounds good to me. Did you bring your cell phone because we could call them and tell them to meet us at our house?” “They are already there waiting for me. I was just getting ready to turn around when I saw you walking. They are really worried about you. They have never seen you so mad before.” “I’m sorry anyone had to see me like that. I thought I was over being angry at him Maria but when I heard his voice I couldn’t help myself I lost it.” Max said as he took Maria’s hand and walk to the Jeep. “It will be okay. I heard Jim got in your dad’s face about showing up like that after you ran off. He told him that you were like his son and stuff like that.” “I wish I was there to see the reaction on everyone’s face.” Max said as he drove home. |
