***Later at the Crashdown*** Max and Maria pulled up at the UFO Center so Maria could go talk to Michael. “Maria are sure you are all right to do this. Maria walks up to the door and knocked on it. “We are closed you’ll have to come back tomorrow.” Michael said without looking up. “MICHAEL IT’S MARIA CAN WE TALK.” Michael walked over to the door and unlocked it and let her in. “Sorry Maria I didn’t know it was you, actually I wasn’t excepting you here.” “I know Michael, I actually need to talk to it is very important.” “Why do I feel like this isn’t gonna be good news.” “Well, did Liz tell you she came to see me and Max today at our new house?” “Yeah, she said she was going to talk to the two of you but she avoided me after she returned.” “I know why she was avoiding you. It was because of what happened at my place. She came by and Tess answered the door so Tess called for Max and I to come into the living room that it was important that we come. So we were walking into the living room and Max stops me and kisses me. Liz sees this. So basically I wanted to tell you that Max and I are dating now and have been for the last five months.” Maria said. I think it is the babies.” Maria said with tears streaming down her face. Michael nodded and ran for the door and opened it and yelled to Max. “MAX GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MARIA AND YOUR BABIES.” As Max heard his name her turned towards the café and saw that it was Michael then he heard the rest of what Michael was saying and ran to the Café. “Michael what happened?” “She was on her way out and next thing I knew she was screaming. I had my back towards her. She was fine when we were talking the next she was on the floor.” “Michael call 911 and get an ambulance here.” Max said to Michael. “Maria talk to me? Michael is calling 911.” “Max, it hurts so bad. OMIGOD do I hate you right now.” Maria said. “Max, I’m sorry I did this. I knew something wasn’t right earlier but I thought it was just stress for everything that happened today.” “Maria it isn’t your fault. Just hold on till the ambulance gets here. I won’t let anything happen to you.” Max said while turning to Michael. “Michael I need you to get Amy and Jim to the hospital. Don’t tell them what happened exactly just tell them to meet us there. Then call Isabel and tell her to get everyone else together at my place and we’ll call them when we know something.” Fifteen minutes later the ambulance showed up and took Maria and Max away to the hospital. While Michael was trying to explain everything to the Parker’s on what had happened in the restaurant after hours. “Mr. Parker I was closing up and Maria stopped by to talk to me so I let her in. She was fine when she got here, after we finished talking I was walking to the back to finish when I heard Maria scream and then I got Max and called 911.” Michael explained. “Michael, is Maria going to be okay?” Mr. Parker asked “I don’t know sir. I know she is 1 months early and she was in a lot of pain. I was scared but I hid it so Max wouldn’t freak out.” “Okay, you go and do what Max asked you to do and I’ll finish up here. Oh Michael please keep me informed about Maria she is like a daughter to me.” “I will do that sir. Where is Liz? I think she should come with me.” “I’m right here and I want to go with you Michael.” Liz said as she walked out of the kitchen. “Okay, first we go get Isabel then she’ll know what to do next.” ***Later at the Hospital*** Max, Amy, Jim, Kyle, Tess, Isabel, Alex, Michael, and Liz are sitting in the waiting room waiting for the doctor to come out and tell them how Maria and the babies are doing. “Max, why didn’t they let you go back with her?” Isabel asked “Maria didn’t want me back there she kind of hates me right now for doing this and by the time Amy and Jim got here they wouldn’t let anyone back there.” Max said on the verge of tears. “Max you know Maria is a fighter and she will be fine.” Michael said walking up to Max and putting his hand on Max’s shoulder. “Michael, I know but she got worse once we were in the ambulance. What you saw was mild compared to else that happened.” Max said finally letting the tears fall. “Max honey she is gonna be okay. She is the strongest person I’ve ever known. Plus I know that she wants to be able to see her babies and be with you since she finally has you.” Amy said pulling Max into a hug. While they were hugging the Doctor walks out and Max runs over to him. “Doctor how is Maria and the babies?” “Are you the father of the babies sir?” “Yes I am, My name is Max Evans.” “Mr. Evans you are the father to a beautiful baby girl and handsome boy but I’m afraid that Ms. Valenti isn’t doing as well. She did ask for a Jim Valenti so I’ve come to get him for her.” “I’m Jim Valenti, I’m her adopted father.” “Please come with me. Mr. Evans could you also follow me, I will take you to the nursery.” Max and Jim followed the doctor back to Maria and the babies. “Nurse this is the father of the twins boy & girl Valenti. Mr. Evans you can go and see them.” Max gave a nodded and headed in to see his son and daughter for the first time. “Mr. Valenti, this is Maria room go on in but be prepared she looks really rough. The delivery was really hard on her.” “Thank you doctor.” Jim said as he headed in to see his daughter. “Maria honey it is your dad Jim.” “Dad, I’m so sorry to have to put you through this but I need to make sure that you will help Max keep my babies safe if something goes wrong. I know I should have asked my mom back here but you know the truth about what my babies are. You can make sure that the FBI never gets a hold of them if I can’t do it. Just tell mom and Kyle that I do love them, also tell Isabel, Tess, Alex, Liz and Michael that I love them and I will always cherish their friendship. Last please tell Max that I will always love him and not to be sad because he needs to stay strong for our babies. I love you too dad. I’m glad that you adopted me. You gave me brother I’ve always wanted plus you’re a great dad to me and Kyle.” Maria said, with tears streaming down her face then she closed her eyes. “Maria honey open you eyes, I need you to open your eyes. You need to know that I love you as if you were my own daughter.” Jim said finally letting the sob escape from him. He stood up and left Maria alone and got the doctor that Maria was gone. “Doctor I think she is gone.” Jim said sadly. Which made the doctor run to Maria’s room. Jim just kept walking out to the waiting room where everyone was waiting for him. When he got out there he saw Max sitting there too. As Jim walked out everyone looked up and when they saw that he was crying everybody broke down because they knew it wasn’t good news. Jim walked up to Max and grabbed him into a hug and whispered. “Max, I’m so sorry but Maria wanted me to tell you that she will always love you and to stay strong for your babies.” Jim said, then Max and he dropped to the ground sobbing. “This can’t be happening, they said she would be fine. I’ve got to see her. I need her more then anything now.” Max said as he ran towards Maria’s room. As he ran into the room he saw Maria for the first time since they took her away from him. He walked up to her and grabbed her hand and put his head on her stomach. “Maria, you need to wake up I need you now more then ever. I’ve never loved someone as much as I love you. Come on I need your help to name them. You know I can’t pick out names.” Max cried. “I’m so sorry I let this happen to you I should be in your spot not you.” But before he could say anything else he heard the her sweet voice that he thought he would never hear again. “I think the FBI would have noticed that.” Maria said. She was looking down at Max with a smile her face. “OMIGOD your alive. We thought you were dead. I don’t know what I would have done without you.” Max said with joyous tears this time. “I thought I was dead Max, I mean I saw a bright light then I heard my dad’s, Jim’s voice and I realized that I couldn’t leave all the people I love. Then I heard your voice I knew I couldn’t leave.” Maria said with new tears in her eyes. “Maria Valenti I can never lose you again. I didn’t want to do this like this but I always carry this around.” Max said pulling out a ring box from his pants pocket. “I’ve wanted to do this since we got together 5 months ago. Maria Lynn Valenti will you do me the honors of being my wife.” “YES! YES! YES!” Maria whispered loudly pulling Max down to her for a kiss. “I love you Maria Valenti.” “I love you Max Evans. I think you should go tell everyone that I’m not dead. Plus I want to see my babies and name them with my soon to be husband.” “Yeah I’ll go tell everyone then the nurse in the nursery to bring our son and daughter to your room.” Max said bending to kiss Maria one more time before he left to get everyone. “Oh one more thing Michael and Liz are both here.” He left before he could see her get a huge grin on her face. Max walked back to the waiting room to break the news to their friends and family. “Max OMIGOD where did you go are you all right?” Isabel said running up to Max. “Wait a minute why do you have smile on you face?” “Everyone, Maria is okay. She woke up while I was in there with her. She said that she was dead but she heard whatever Jim said to her then she heard me and decided that she couldn’t leave the ones that she loved.” Max said. “She wants everyone to come to our room and meet our son and daughter. Everyone includes Michael and Liz too. I saw the looks on your faces.” ***Next Morning*** Max and Maria are sitting in the hospital room holding the son and daughter. “So we have our names now. Our son’s is Alexander Kyle Michael Evans and our daughter’s Isabella Tess Elizabeth Evans. I think that covers everyone.” “Yeah it does. I can’t believe that we are parents Max. I am sorry that your parents aren’t here. I know that your mother wants to be here but she wont come up here unless you call her.” “Maria, I know I want my mother to know her grandchildren but I don’t want my father around them. I don’t want him to call them mistakes or something worse.” “Max call her, I know that your father is away this week on business.” “You’ve been talking to Isabel haven’t you.” “Max please do it for Xander and Bell.” “Fine, I will go and see her. I’m waiting for someone to get here to be with you.” “Will I do?” Michael said from the door. “Michael, I didn’t see you in the room last night when everyone else came in.” Maria said “I didn’t come in. I left I had to think some things out before I could see you again Maria.” “Max, go talk to your mother. Michael and I have some things we need to talk about.” “Okay I’ll be back. I thought we talked everything over last night before everything happened with me.” “Yeah I thought we had too then I thought you had died and the only thing I could think was that she died and she thinks I don’t forgive her and that I want nothing to do with you or you babies. So when Max came out and said that you were going to be okay I was like I get a second chance to let her know that I do forgive you and I want to be your friend. I want to be Uncle Mickey to Xander and Bell.” “Michael, I’ve never been happier to hear something in my whole life. I mean I was happy when Liz came and see Max and me but I’m even happier now. You know that you were my first love and that I will always love you but not like I do Max. Xander and Bell are going to have the best uncle in you Michael.” “Thank you Maria. Kyle and Max shared a room and Tess and I got our own of course. I figured they would have been here hours ago.” “Actually Tess is begging our dad for money to buy you something from the gift shop and mom is actually doing the same thing. Pour guy is getting double teamed.” “I wouldn’t have been if you hadn’t snuck away like you did son.” Jim said from the door way with gifts. “I see you lost.” Kyle said laughing. “This isn’t all, Tess and Amy have more stuff.” Jim said which made everyone laugh. “Hello Michael didn’t see you over there.” “Hello Sheriff, nice to see you.” Michael said “Just call me Jim or dad whatever you want. I mean I’ve got like 3 more kids then I use to. One more is always welcome.” “How do you have three more Jim?” “Well, Maria, Tess, and Max. After living with them for 6 months they all call me dad, even Isabel does some times. Which made everyone crack up. “So where is my niece and nephew and what are their names?” “She won’t tell you till everyone is here.” Kyle said to Alex. “Will somebody help us out here?” Amy said from the door with her hands full of gifts and you can see Tess behind her with her hands full. “You really lost dad.” Maria said which made Kyle, Jim, Maria and Michael crack up while everyone one looked on confused. “What is she talking about Jim honey?” Amy asked “Nothing, just an inside joke.” “Hello everyone. Where are my grand babies and what are their names? Wait where is Max?” “Max went to talk and get his mom because his dad is away for the week. Your grand babies are next to me and you have to wait for everyone else for the names.” Maria answered in one breath. “I see that hasn’t changed.” Michael said and every one laughed. “What is everyone laughing about?” Max asked walking in with Isabel, Liz, and his mother. “Uncle Mickey was trying to be funny.” Alex said with a huge grin on his face. “Okay everyone is here what are their names?” “Fine, Max and I picked out the names together. Max tell them our son’s name.” “Okay we named our son Alexander Kyle Michael Evans his nickname is Xander.” “We named our daughter Isabella Tess Elizabeth Evans her nickname is Bell or Bella. The reason we named our kids that is because we want to thank you for putting up with us. We love you all and we always will.” Maria said “I have questioned.” Michael said “Yes Michael what is your questioned.” Max said “Why did you use my name? I wasn’t there for you. I was you biggest pain.” “Yeah same hear.” Liz said “Because we still love you two as our friends. We might not have been friends through the summer but we will be for the rest of our lives and Xander and Bell’s lives as well.” “Mrs. Evans I’m sorry you were stuck in the middle of your husband and your son but I know that I want you part out Xander and Bell’s life. I’m sorry I ruined your family.” Maria said on the verge of tears. “Maria honey, my family isn’t ruined, we are just not all together. I don’t blame anyone but my husband for this mess. I will not miss out on my grand babies’ lives because of him. I want to be part of my son’s life too.” Diane said. “Okay enough for sappy stuff we have another announcement.” Max said “I asked Maria to marry me and she said yes.” “Congratulations.” Everyone said in unison. “Thank you.” “When are you planing on getting married?” Jim asked “I think we are going to wait till after graduation. Plus that let’s us plan it.” Maria said. “That is if I get to graduate.” “Maria, you know that I will watch the babies for you while you’re at school.” Amy said. “I’ll also help Amy out.” Diane said. “Mom if you do help out it will have to be at our house.” Max said harshly. “Maxwell, be nice.” Maria said “I know Max. I don’t think your father would allow them in his house.” Diane said with a frown. “I’m sorry mom. I didn’t mean it to sound like that.” “Well I’m gonna have to kick everyone out so I can feed the babies.” “Can’t I stay, It’s not like I haven’t seen your breast before.” Max asked with a sly grin. “MAXWELL EVANS that is still my daughter.” Jim said. Which made everyone start laughing. “Well it is true dad.” Max said but after what he said he looked at his mom and saw a sad smile on her face. “Actually I would like it if everyone left including you Max because I also need some rest and you should go home and shower because you stink.” Maria said laughing. “Oh I love you too.” Max said sarcastically. “You know I do love you but I need my rest and so do you. Kyle and Michael will you take him home and make sure he gets some rest. I will call everyone later.” Maria said “Yeah we’ll get him home but can’t promise you he’ll get any sleep.” Kyle said with a wicked grin. “I will go with them and make sure he does.” Tess said pushing them out the door. After everyone let Jim came back for a minute “Maria is it all right if I came in for a minute?” “Sure dad what’s up?” “I’m glad that you are finally happy. I’m also glad that I’ve got to become your father these past couple of months.” Jim finished and looked up from the ground to Maria and saw the tears flooding down her face. “Dad, I’m also glad that you became my father. I’m glad that I get you to walk me down the aisle at my wedding to Max.” Maria said as she watched Jim as tears fell from his eyes. Maria got out of bed and walked over to him and gave him a huge hug. “I love you dad.” “I love you too daughter.” |
