{Next Morning} Maria woke up with a strong pair of arms holding her tight and she felt the safest she has ever felt. She turns her head and gives Max a light kiss on his lips. She didn’t expect Max to kiss her back. “Morning ‘Ria.” Max said when they broke the kiss. “Morning to you too Max.” Maria said then kissed Max again. “Are they going to let me out of this hell hole.” Just then the doctor walked in. “Good morning Ms. Deluca. How are you feeling this morning?” “I’m ready to leave this place. Can I go home?” “I’m sure you want out of here but I’m on strict order not to let you leave until Sheriff Valenti gets here.” The Doctor said. “Oh please let me out of here.” Maria pouted. “You will be leaving today Ms. Deluca just not yet. I will have everything ready so when the Sheriff does get here you can leave.” “Fine, bye doctor.” Maria said as the doctor left. “Why didn’t you help me out here Max.” “What was I going to do except get the wrath of Jim when he got here. At least we can sit here for awhile and relax. Because you know you won’t get to relax a lot once you get out of here.” “Can I tell you something?” Maria asked. “Of course.” Max answered. “I don’t want to live with Kyle.” “Why not?” “It’s not Kyle but who he will be bringing home with him.” “You mean Isabel.” “Yes, I don’t understand why she hates me so much. I’ve never been mean to her until yesterday when we got into that fight.” “She’s jealous of you.” “You have got to be kidding me. She has everything. She’s popular, has loads of friends, and a boyfriend. I don’t have any of that.” “She hates your friendship with Kyle, Michael and I. She wants friends who will do anything for each other, like us four have.” “If she wasn’t so rude she could have that.” “Yeah, I know and I think she’s afraid of losing Kyle to you.” “Please, Kyle’s like my brother. If she does lose him it will be because of the way she acts not because of me. Maybe I should have a little chat with Ms. Guerin. I’ll set her straight about Kyle and I.” “Are you sure that is a good idea.” “Yes.” Maria says just before Jim walks in the door. “Are you ready to go to your new home?” Jim asked. “I’ve bee ready. What did you tell the school everything?” Maria said. “I had to tell them the truth. The courts are going to make me your legal guardian until your eighteen.” “That’s cool with me. I always thought of you as my dad Anyways. Am I aloud to go get my things from Jerry’s place?” Maria asked. “Yes, Kyle and Max can take you later. First I want to get you home and settled.” Jim said. “I don’t have any clothes at your house. I don’t have any clothes to wear home from here.” Maria said. “Actually, I’ve got you some stuff in the car for you. I just wanted to make sure they were letting you out of here. Also I already contacted Kyle and Michael to meet at the house after school.” “All righty then, let’s get out of here.” Maria said as she hugged Max. Jim left to go get Maria’s things and talk to the doctor. “I’m glad are you okay. I’m sorry it took this for me to show my true feelings. I didn’t tell you because I was afraid you wouldn’t like me this way. Then I was afraid I’d ruin our friendship.” Max said before he got off the bed. “Same here. I’ve liked you for as long as I can remember. Let’s be thankful that we can still be together.” Maria said as she grabbed Max’s shirt and pulled him closer and kissed him. Jim decided to walk in just then. “Oh god, I’m sorry.” Jim said as he started to back out of the room. “Stop. Jim it is okay. I want my clothes so I can get dressed and leave.” Maria said. Jim walks the bag over to her and walks back to wear he was standing. “Both of you need to get out so I can get dressed.” “Okay we’ll be right outside if you need anything.” Max said then gives her a soft kiss on the lips before he walked out with Jim. |
