Chapter 7 {Maria’s POV} It has been one year since I left Roswell and I miss it like crazy. I never thought that I would miss that town. My mom, Jim, Kyle, Tess, Isabel, Alex, and my sweet Max are coming tomorrow June 17th. Laney is now three months old and we are on our way over to Aunt Monica’s. She said it was important that I come over now. I finally reached her house. As I walked in the maid was there to take Laney up to her room here. After I handed Laney over I walked towards the living room while I was talking. “Aunt Monica what is so important that you needed me to wake. . . “ I just let my sentence stop when I saw my mom, Jim, Kyle, Tess, Isabel, Alex, and Max sitting in the living room. Everyone was staring at me and I wanted to turn and run but instead I just said “Hello.” “Maria is that really you.” My mom asks as she ran and grabbed me. “Yeah it’s me mom.” I say but I can’t take my eyes off Max. “Mom, I can’t breathe.” “How long have you been here with your Aunt?” Amy asks. “I’ve been here the whole time. I’m staying in the other house.” I answered. I then go and give Isabel, Kyle, Tess, Jim, and Alex a hug. I stop in front of Max, he just stands there looking at me. I walk up to him “I’ve missed you like crazy Max.” I start to get tears in my eyes. “I wanted to tell you where I was but I had to work some things out.” Max grabs me into a hug “I’ve missed you too.” Is all he says as he kisses me. I kiss him back with all the passion that I’ve had for a year. I pushed him away when I hear Laney start crying. “I’ll be right back.” Is all I say as I go get my baby from the maid in the other room. Part 8 Chapter 8 {Everyone} After Maria walks out everyone turns to Monica. “Why didn’t you tell me my daughter was staying here.” Amy asked “Because she asked me not to. She needed time to herself. I’m sorry but I would have rather had her here with me safe then out on the streets by herself.” Monica replied, then she turns to Max. “It’s nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you.” “Thank you.” Was all Max could say because Maria had just walked in carrying a baby. “Everyone, I’d like you to meet my daughter Laney Isabella Maxine Deluca.” Maria said to everyone but only looking at Max. “Is this why you ran away because you were pregnant by Michael?” Amy asks. “No mom, I didn’t know I was pregnant when I left. Laney is only three months old.” She was still looking at Max but could here Kyle, Tess, Alex, and Isabel gasps because they knew who the father was. “She is Max’s baby.” Max was still in shock from Maria saying it was her daughter, which meant that it was his daughter too. He finally came out of his shock and heard Maria confirm what he already knew. “Would you like to hold her?” Maria asked. “Yes, I would love to hold my daughter.” Max replied, finally taking his eyes off Maria as she walked over to him and put his daughter is his arms. Max just kept staring at his daughter and let his tears finally fall. “Why didn’t you tell me about her? Why did you leave? You had us all worried about you. You were gone a year and I heard from you once and you only called your mom four times.” Max asked. As he finished everyone decided it would be best if they left these two alone to discuss there problems because they would all have there turn tomorrow with her. “Max, I’m sorry about every thing. I left Roswell because I couldn’t stand to be around you and Liz everyday knowing how much I was in love with you. I didn’t tell you about Laney because I didn’t want to ruin your life and relationship with Liz and your parents. The reason I didn’t call or write more was because I was afraid I would slip and say were I was and with writing you could find out by the postal stamp. I’m so in love with you and afraid you didn’t feel the same way.” Maria answered then added. “I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle watching you with Liz after what we did together.” “Maria, you didn’t even talk to me before you left.” Max tried to explain but was interrupted by Maria. “You were gone when I woke up but you didn’t talk to me either. I gave you my innocence then you ignored me. What was I suppose to do or think.” Maria explained. “Maria, I had to get home before my parents realized I never came home.” Max tried to explain but was yet again interrupted. “Max, you’ve stayed at my house without telling your parents quite a few times. What changed this time?” “Nothing changed except my parents thought I was out with Liz, not at your place. I wasn’t ignoring you that week, Brody asked me to work extra shifts because we had to get new displays set up before the convention came in to town. I didn’t want to leave you that morning. I made love to the girl of my dreams.” Max finally explained. “Another thing Liz and I broke up that night we were together. She tried to get back together a couple of times after you left but I told her I wasn’t in love with her anymore because I was in love with someone else.” “I’m so sorry Max. I wasn’t thinking right but I don’t regret leaving because it helped me realize how much I do love you and I’m just sorry. What else do you want me to say.” “I know your sorry and I forgive you for leaving. But Maria I missed out on my daughter’s birth and the first three months of her life.” “I know what I did was wrong but at the time I thought it was right. It was my idea to bring you guys here. I wanted to see you again. Remember when Kyle was run over by a stroller back in April, that was me. I wasn’t sure I was ready to face everyone yet but my Aunt took that out of my hands because she told me you guys wouldn’t be here till tomorrow.” Maria said. Just as she finished Isabel came back into the room. “Sorry to bother you two because I know you have enough to talk about but I came to get my niece because I’m sure she is tired.” Isabel said without looking at Maria. “No, that is okay I will be putting my daughter to sleep. Max you can come with me to my place and finish talking because I have to put Laney to bed.” Maria said as she got her baby back from Max. “I think we have talked enough for tonight but I’m still coming with you. I would like to help with her tonight.” Max said. “Fine with me I have a spare room after she is asleep. Let’s go.” Maria said as she walked to the front door. “Isabel tell them where we went and that we will be back for breakfast.” “Max go easy on her. She really does love you and she knows that she was wrong for leaving and not telling you about your daughter but don’t ruin what might happen.” Isabel said as she walked Max out. |
