Chapter 12
{Maria’s House}

Maria is up stairs putting Laney to sleep while Max is downstairs waiting for her. When Maria is done she joins Max downstairs in the kitchen.

“How are you?” Max asked while putting his arms around Maria’s waist.

“I’m fine. I can honestly say I never expected it would happen like that. The Michael I knew would never have done anything like that. What happen to him Max?”

“He changed. I don’t know when but I never thought it was that bad. I’m sorry I didn’t stop him when he first grabbed you.”

“Max don’t be. I wasn’t scared when he first grabbed me. It scared me when he kissed me and ripped my shirt. I felt you try to move but I did stop you. I’m not going to press charges on Michael but I will let him sit in jail over night. I’m just hoping that something like that doesn’t happen every time we run into them.”

“They won’t make a scene every time. Plus I believe Liz is going away for college. She won’t be around after the summer. Michael will probably go with her or Courtney.”

“I hope your right. I’m also glad your parents didn’t come with us tonight.” Maria said then leaned in and kissed Max. “God, I missed your kisses.” Then there was a knock on the door.

“They sure know when to show up.” Max said as he went to open the door but it wasn’t who he thought it was.

“What are you doing here?” Max asked.

“I’m not sure.”

“I don’t want you here Liz. Please leave.” Max said but by then Maria had came out.

“Why did you come to my house? I told you to stay away.” Maria said. “You want your shot at me too like Michael.”

“No, I’m not here to fight. I came to apologize for what happened at the Crashdown.” Liz said with an attitude.

“That’s believable Liz. I bet you were sent here by your father not because you wanted to be.” Maria said.

“Your correct. I don’t want to be here but to keep my job and Michael’s I had to.” Liz said.

“I don’t want your apologizes. I want you out of my house and out of my, Laney and Max’s life. Tell Michael the same. If he shows up here I will call the cops. NOW LEAVE!” Maria said then she turned and left the room.

“Bye Liz.” Max said as he shut the door in her face.
