Our History:
The Ninety - Nines was formed in 1929, at the Cleveland Air Races by a growing number of women that were becoming involved in aviation.  The group was named The Ninety - Nines because that was how many women pilots were in the charter group that formed the organization.  Amelia Earhart was our first President.
The Greater Seattle Chapter was formed on September 10 of 1969.  Our meetings are planned as fly-in meetings on most occasions and we usually meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30 AM.  Our fly-in meetings are held at such places as FridayHarbor, Harvey Field, Pt. Townsend and Hoquiam to name a few.
Every year, in conjunction with Western  Washington chapter, we put on a flying companion seminar at the Northwest Aviation Trade Show in Puyallup in February.  In addition, our chapter assists with the 99's booth at the Arlington EAA Airshow in July.  Our chapter is also involved in air marking, a 99's tradition.
