Navigating the Lower Saint Lawrence in the 19th Century.

      On Friday next, the 25th instant, on one o'clock, on the wharf of Messrs. Grant & Greenshields, for the benefit of the underwriters or others concerned:
    The brig Maria, and cargo, stranded at Cacouna, with her anchors, cables, sails, rigging and other materials, of which a particular inventory will be made out and may be seen at the counting house of the subscriber. Also, a suit of new sails, fit for a ship of 350 tons.

 SALE BY AUCTION. 
      On Wednesday the 4th November next, will be sold at the subscribers' auction room, at one o'clock, for the benefit of the underwriters and others concerned:
    The copper bottomed ship James Dunlop, burthen per register, 426 tons or thereabouts, as she now lies or did lie wrecked on the Island of Anticosti, together with her rigging, tackle, and apparel. An inventory of the effects left on board the said ship, and of others taken on shore, at the time she was abandoned by the master and crew, the twelfth instant, may be seen, by applying to the brokers, and every information as to the state and place she was left in, will be given by her late commander Daniel Ferguson, at the Neptune Inn, lower-town. Also, at same time and place, will be sold for account as aforesaid, a number of muskets, pistols, cutlasses, flags, and other articles brought up from the wreck.

      October 24th. Her Majesty's schooner St. Lawrence. 6 days from Anticosti. Intelligence: the ship James Dunlop, from Cork, sailed the 28th of August, under convey of H.M.S. Sophia, has been totally wrecked 10 leagues to the eastward of Southwest Point, Anticosti, on the 3rd instant, crew saved.
