Navigating the Lower Saint Lawrence in the 19th Century.

      At the Neptune Inn, on Tuesday next, the 20th instant, for account and benefit of the underwriters and others concerned, at one o'clock precisely:
    The brig Recovery, Captain Sommersall, of the burthen of 167 tons, stranded on the reef of St. Valier, now lying in a cove about a league below Point Levy church, also the cargo of the said brig, with her anchors, cables, sails, rigging and other materials, of which a more particular and detailed account will be given by printed handbills to be distributed. Captain Sommersall and Messrs. James Ross & Co. will give every information relative to the premises.

  Quebec, 15th November, 1810.      
 
      On Friday next, the 16th instant, on account of the underwriters and other concerned in the ship Trio, Captain John Cribben, from Liverpool for this port, wrecked on the reef at Pointe aux Mille Vaches.
    All that part of the her cargo saved by the schooners Good Intent and Deschenes, consisting of cloths, calicoes, linens, hats, earthenware, steel, iron, saddlery, cutlery, ironmongery, soap, candles, iris butter, and many other things too numerous to be mentioned. The sale will commence at one o'clock precisely, on St. Andrew's wharf, and be continued at the auction room of Mr. Louis Delamare, in the market place.
    N.B. There will be another sale of damaged goods, on the same account, on Tuesday next, the 23rd instant, and which will be continued as craft arrive from the wreck.

  ARRIVALS. 
      Margaret, Henry Person, 68 days from Greenock, to Francis & William Hunter, in ballast. Passengers, Mr. Andrew Ferguson. Intelligence: spoke the Flora of Lynn, 20 days since in the River, then 3 months from London, in company with a brig and galliot; next day saw a brig on shore at Anticosti, supposed bound up.  
 
 NOTICE. 
      Captain Dyet, of the ship Trader, having sailed from this port without taking the mail that was made up to go by that vessel, the same being returned to the Post Office.
    Such letters as were sent loose to the counting house of the subscriber and intended also for the Trader, will be forwarded, unless countermanded, per the brig Margaret, John Jones, master, to sail for Liverpool; and a mail will be made up at the Post Office, for the latter vessel, to be closed on Saturday next, at 4 o'clock, afternoon.

    All the rigging, sails, blocks, cables, anchors, and other materials saved from the said ship.
    N.B. One cable never was bent.

      On Wednesday next, the 28th instant, at Jones & White's auction room, at one o'clock precisely, for the account and benefit of the underwriters and others concerned:
    The hull, masts, yards, standing and running rigging, sails, anchors, cables, &c. &c. &c. of the ship Johns, James Wilson, late master, as she now lies or did lie, wrecked off Cape St. Anne, in the River St. Lawrence.
