The Clarks, by far are Pittsburgh's most popular band. With two hit songs on WXDX and WDVE, The Clarks are definitely hitting it big in their home town. They have thousands of dedicated fans who try to attend every concert (including me) and have sold over 95,000 copies of their new album, "Let It Go". With catchy lyrics such as "I've been chasin' girls, I've been drinkin' beer, I've been gettin stoned all year" these guys have a shot at making it in the music biz. As of right now, they're touring the east coast, opening for bands and giving themselves a name. I attended a concert on March 16 at Club Laga and let me tell you. The energy of the band, not to mention the fans.. is just totally undescribable. People were going crazy for their favorite hometown band, and the band was at home up on stage. With a string of hits like "Penny On the Floor", "Cigarette", "Courtney", and "Caroline", The Clarks have become well known around the 'Burgh. But they aren't like any other band I've ever heard. The music is like a mix between classic Rock & Roll and Alternative. Scott Blasey's voice is wonderful, and the guitar riffs on every song are perfect. But no matter how many fans can sing the lyrics to their songs, these guys are incredibly modest, down-to-earth people. Check 'em out guys!
