A Swashbuckling Adventure!

Ahoy, Mateys!

Hi! I'm Joseph and I'm eight and a half years old. Christine is my twin sister. We used to be 8. Here's why we got older.

I first came out when we started thinkin' about how our body is. See, even though our body's small and kinda skinny, I'm not. I love to eat. My favorite foods are cheeseburgers and tacos and double chocolate fudge ice cream (but not mixed together [ha!]).

One of my favorite things in the whole wide world to do is playing pirates. I like any kinds of games where I can dress up in a costume or go around pretending. Sometimes I'm a knight. Sometimes I'm an airplane pilot. Sometimes I'm a quarterback in the Super Bowl.

And when I'm not playing pirates or anything like that, I like to see how loud I can burp (haha!). But don't tell anyone. I mean, my bigs know I like to burp, but they don't want me doing it in front of a zillion people. smiley boy swinging upside-down from bar

boy on bike I used to think I wasn't cool at all--you know, the way my body looks. But Charity (she's one of our bigs) told me that I'm great just the way I am, and if anyone tries to get me to feel bad about myself, they're just plain wrong. :-Þ

So if you ever start thinking bad things about yourself, just do what I do. Say something nice to yourself instead. It doesn't hafta be anything really humongous. Like "I'm a cool kid." Even if you don't believe it, just keep saying good stuff. You can pretend you're talking to your best friend. And hey, you may even find out that you are your own best friend! Cool! smiley
