#12 Doug Meyer
Freshman from Bloomington Kennedy

How old were you when you started skating? I was somewhere around two or three when I strappped my first pair on.
What is your favorite hockey team? I'd have to go with either Detroit or Dallas, they are both great teams I think.
Who is your favorite player? Sergei Federov, Eric Lindros, and Tony Twist
Who was your biggest role model while growing up? I didn't really have a quote "role model", but I had people I looked up to. My mother and father were my off-the-ice coaches. Two coaches that made a difference for me were Stacey Nelson and high school coach Todd Kennedy.
Why did you decide on the University of Minnesota? Mainly because of the schooling, I'm looking at becoming a math teacher or majoring in business, haven't decided, but these are subject to change.
What is your most memorable game so far? (before or with MN) Don't really have one.

Do you have a lucky number? I have three lucky numbers 3, 9 , and 12. My first choice, 9, was stolen by Johnny Pohl, so I took twelve.
Is there anything special that you do before every game? Put all the equipment on my right side, on first (i.e. right skate, then left skate; right shin pad, then left shin pad).

What is your favorite:
food? Steak and shrimp and/or fettuccine
movie? Don't really have one.
color? blue
sport other than hockey? football and track

What do you see yourself doing in the future? Either playing in the NHL or a successful business man, but either way, a good husband and father.
Any comments that you have about this years team? Through hard work and perseverance, I believe the Golden Gophers can be a team to watch for this year.
