What If? -a YYH/RK crossover Part 17 --------------------------------------- Kurama's eyes widened. Let this young man carry him? He glanced uncertainly at Hiei-chan. Though his friend was scowling a bit, he didn't look *too* upset. He eyed him wonderingly, then turned back to the taller boy, cheeks faintly turning red. His youko side sulked at what he was about to do. He sighed. Pride had to take a back seat to practicality sometimes, no matter how much it galled him. Ah, well... Lifting his emerald gaze, Kurama shyly smiled at Sanosuke and agreed. After all, what harm could it do? * * * * * Sanosuke lifted the redhead into his arms, marvelling at how light Kurama was. Now that he realized that Kurama *wasn't* Kenshin, he began to see the differences between the two. Although Kenshin was certainly small and slender, he radiated subdued masculinity. Kurama on the other hand... The delicate features, the brilliant green eyes, the faint scent of roses that hung around the redhead...how could he have mistaken such a beautiful woman for Kenshin?!? Sano suddenly blushed. What the hell was he *thinking*?!?! That explosion must've turned his brain to mush. There was no other way that he could be waxing poetic otherwise. Kurama peered up at him from beneath long lashes, a faintly questioning look on her face. He stammered out something that vaguely resembled a joke, and was rewarded by an answering sparkle in her eyes. He stared, entranced. * * * * * The ningen was holding Kurama-chan entirely *too* close. Hiei-chan's eyes narrowed in suspicion. His face darkened even more when the boy grinned and joked with the pretty redhead, causing the other to laugh sweetly. He was beginning to feel slightly--okay, maybe more than slightly...ALL RIGHT, *VERY*, jealous. If Kurama-chan didn't look so tired... He let out his breath in a small huff. The ningen had just better not *try* anything. He scowled. Kurama-chan was HIS. Growling, the little youkai walked on, crimson eyes glued to Sano and Kurama's backs. ----------------------------- Just a note here: If you guys re-read the previous parts, you'll see that so far, only Kenshin actually realizes that Kurama is a boy. The other two only thought he was because they mistook him for Kenshin. Now that *that* misunderstanding has been cleared up however... The bishounen effect strikes again!
