THE RIFLES DISPATCH

Last Meeting

The last meeting of the Goldsboro Rifles was held Thursday December 4, 2008 at the Seven Springs Restaurant. We had our annual Christmas Social. Dr. Alan Lamm, Department of History and Social Studies Chair at Mount Olive College, gave a very interesting program on Women in the Confederacy. Entertainment was provided by Compatriot Lamar Owensby on the piano. .

There were 20 members and guests in attendance.

Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Goldsboro Rifles will be held at 7:00pm, January 8, 2009. The meeting will be held at the Seven Springs Restaurant. We will not have a program as we will be making plans for the upcoming year. Compatriot Keith Rouse will present the program in February. Membership in the Goldsboro Rifles is open to males at least 12 years old and of good character who has an ancestor that served in the Confederate armed forces or was a political figure serving the Confederacy.

If you might be interested in visiting our meeting, you are most welcome to do so. We would like to have you. Who knows, you might want to join up. If you need help searching for a qualifying ancestor, we can help you with that.
