Photogenic singing Go-Go takes time to get her solo career back on track.
The Skinny LA punk quintet the Go-Go's went from the Hollywood gutter to the Top-40 and back again in the '80s. They have recently and predictably enjoyed a resurgence via VH1, reforming for tours and the 2001 album "God Bless the Go-Go's" (Beyond). Even lead singer Belinda Carlisle's solo career is getting a bump up after fading in the '90s. Post-Go-Go's, Carlisle turned to a heavily-produced light-pop sound in place of her band's spunky guitars and has platinum-selling material such as "Mad About You," "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" and "Circle in the Sand" to draw on for her live show. The singer hasn't done a solo tour of the States since 1990 but may have good reason to wake up diehard fans. She will be testing new songs from her seventh solo album, promised in 2003.
