Ash's Pokédex

As you may or may not know, Ash's Pokédex, Dexter, gives us different information on Pokémon than the Pokédex you receive in the game. Because of this, I have decided to gather all the information Dexter gives us in the show and display it here, like you would see in a real Pokédex. I will also display entries given by any other Pokédex in the show, with a note beside them. Entries given after Dexter was upgraded in "Who gets to keep Togepi?" will have this: (UDE) which means Upgraded Dexter Entry, usually appearing after the Pokémon's name. Now, we know Ash still hasn’t seen every Pokémon there is, but as his journey continues I will continue to fill this page with the information from Dexter, Ash’s Pokédex.

I'm Dexter, a Pokédex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokémon trainer Ash Ketchum of the town of Pallet. My function is to provide Ash with information and advice regarding Pokémon and their training. If lost or stolen, I cannot be replaced.

General Information:

While being trained a Pokémon usually stays inside its Pokéball. However, there are many exceptions. Some Pokémon hate being confined.

To capture a Pokémon you usually have your own Pokémon battle with the other.

Wild Pokémon tend to be jealous of human-trained Pokémon.

Know yourself, know your adversary, and you hold the key to victory.

(When used while ghosts are present, but unseen.) Ghost Pokémon are in a vapor form. Their true nature is shrouded in mystery.

The Pokéflute is used to wake sleeping Pokémon. Snorlax will only awaken to this flute.
