The Aspiring Jedi's Handbook of Virtues
The virtues the Jedi possess make them great models to aspire to. Some of the main virtues of the Jedi are courage, loyalty, compassion, justice, and forgiveness. The Jedi have honor; which means they set certain values or morals to guide their actions by. They live by these standards which are the basis of their self-worth. Jedi also have endurance; no matter how much they suffer, they keep strong mental focus. Nobility is another virtue that the Jedi possess. The text defines nobility as "a desire for moral excellence that permits them to overcome personal interests in favor or some purpose larger than themselves. To me this means that Jedi are "men for others". They are meant to serve others, to put others before themselves. So epecially at Saint Louis University High School, we should look to the Jedi as models of faith.
