Iron Monkey is absolutely a kung fu lover's dream come true! Another kung fu gem by the legendary Yuen Woo Ping. You will be amazed at the fighting scenes period. The movie begins when Iron Monkey(Yu Rong Guang) steals from one of the newly appointed "corrupt" Official. However it seems that the Official, his army, & the evil monks, who also works for him are awaiting to ambush Iron Monkey. 2 minutes into the movie & an already awesome fighting scene ensues as Iron Monkey is attacked from both sides by the officials army lead by General Shang, & by the evil monks. Iron Monkey however makes a safe getaway with the Officials money & gold, but not before leaving a 'Thank You' note to the Official for his generous unwilling contribution to the sick & the poor. Turns out that Iron Monkey is actually Dr. Yang, the towns only doctor, who also has an assistant Miss Ho(Jean Wang). The next day General Shang sees Dr. Yang for being beaten up by Iron Monkey the previous night. After being treated by Dr. Yang, General Shang reports back to duty, only to be commanded by the Official to arrest "anyone" that looks, or acts like a monkey. Enter Wong Kei Ying(Donnie Yen), & his son Wong Fei Hung. As the two stroll into town to buy some medicine, & herbs, they are suddenly attacked by local pick pocketers. As Wong Kei Ying unleashes his kung fu fury to teach the pick pocketers a few lessons, he & his son are suddenly arrested by the town police for being Iron Monkey-like, for having superior fighting skills. With all the potential 'Iron Monkeys in the courtroom before the Official, Wong's son, Wong Fei Hung is threatened to be burned on the face, if no one in the room admits to be Iron Monkey. Suddenly, the real Iron Monkey appears & demands the innocent people be released or else...Iron Monkey however is attacked again by General Shang's army, but not before shaving the Official's left eyebrow.(hilarious!) While Iron Monkey is continually being attacked, Wong Kei Ying decides to help the army by going after Iron Monkey himself, in order to help himself, his son, and the people be released if he captures Iron Monkey. And as the two fight, (another awesome fighting scene here!) they both realize their superior kung fu. After a few scuffles Iron Monkey gets away, and Wong Kei Ying is appreciated by General Shang, the Official decides to let everyone go, except Wong's son. The Official (after seeing Wong's superior kung fu against Iron Monkey) demanded for Wong Kei Ying to bring  Iron Monkey back to him if not, he will never see his son Wong Fei Hung ever again. With no choice, the tired & hungry Wong Kei Ying wanders the streets trying to buy food from the locals, only to be turned down & ignored. For he fought against Iron Monkey, & Iron Monkey is the locals only hope & inspiration against the evil, corrupt government. Meanwhile,  Miss Ho sees Wong Kei Ying scraping for food in the streets, & asks him to join her & Dr. Yang for some supper. And as they eat dinner, Dr. Yang, & Miss Ho finds out as Wong Kei Ying tells them everything that had happened. That the Offical is forcing him to capture Iron Monkey, in order for him to be with his son again. As Dr. Yang & Miss Ho's eyes both meet, Wong Kei Ying says his thanks, & bids farewell to the two. The next day, Dr. Yang & Miss Ho asked General Shang to release Wong Fei Hung who's being held up in a cell. General Shang after learning that Wong Fei Hung is sick with fever, & possibly the plague, gives his okay to Dr. Yang & Miss Ho. As they nurse Wong Fei Hung back to health, Wong Kei Ying along with General Shang has a run in with the evil monks who's trying to kindap young women for prostitution. (Donnie Yen's awesome martial arts mastery is demonstrated in this scene, truly spectacular!!!!!) General Shang gets knocked out, & Wong Kei Ying kicks the living crap out of the monks, suddenly a swordswoman appears & gets Wong's attention by tossing a huge lumber wood at him. And a duel between Wong & her ensues(yes..the fighting hasn't stopped yet...) Before the swordwoman gets defeated she makes a sudden get away. At this point Wong's son Wong Fei Hung wakes up,  refreshed, and back to good health. He decides to look for his dad. Meanwhile, Dr. Yang & Miss Ho, disguises themselves as  Legate Officers (Higher Official) to collect tax fees from the "evil" town Official. After tricking & robbing the evil Official of his money, & food supplies, Dr. Yang goes out on the prowl as Iron Monkey once again & distributes the money  to the townspeople. The next day, the 'real; Legate Official, Hin Hung(a corrupt shaolin monk) comes in to visit only to be informed by the evil Official that Iron Monkey had posed as a Legate Official the day before, & was tricked out of his money that Hin Hung was supposed to recieve. Furious, Hin Hung takes over as the Official, takes all the property including  the Officials 5 concubines, & kicking the evil Official out on the streets to live as a vagabond. The following day Wong Fei Hung  being chased by the local pick pocketers, is rescued by Miss Ho. She takes him back to the clinic to reunite him with his father Wong Kei Ying. And as they ate lunch, there's a little argument between Dr. Yang & Wong Kei Ying about what young Wong Fei Hung should, & should not eat.(a very funny scene!)  That night as Iron Monkey  was making his rounds distributing money to the townspeople, is suddenly attacked by the swordswoman , and an evil monk. Together as they fought with Iron Monkey,  Hin Hung comes out of nowhere & hits Iron Monkey on the back with his 'Shaolin Golden Palm'. Iron Monkey gets away & is pursued by Hin Hung but only to be intercepted by Wong Kei Ying. Who was still looking for Iron Monkey.. An awesome duel between Hin Hung, & Wong Kei Ying takes place. (You just have to see this scene.....) Wong also gets hit by the 'Shaolin Golden Palm.....................................................               CLICK TO CONTINUE....
