060. Milkshake
"Come on," I tug his hand, "it’ll be fun!"
"I don't know..."
I giggled, George was still so shy! You’d never know he knocked the school bully out cold sometimes.
George blushed. "I know, I know, it's stupid, but I never go to the cafe when it's crowded -"
"Sure you do," I teased, "in fact I distinctly remember you in there a few days ago...seemed pretty intent on something too." I winked.
George's blush deepened, but then he grinned. "Well, desperate times...I was trying to speak to this girl...this very popular girl, I probably would have never got hold of her if I hadn't faced the horror of Lou's in the afternoon."
"Hmmm...well, let me put your mind at rest, it's perfectly safe in there, I'll be with you." I cooed standing up on my tip toes to give him a kiss.
George has to be the best kisser, you'd never have guessed it! Boy, was I glad that I was the one who found out.
With someone who kisses that great it's easy to get carried away, and so we did, at least until a whistle pierced the air.
"Hey! That's enough you two!"
"Yeah, we've got decency laws, you know!"
I turned from George with a laugh, it was Betty and Babs, I should have known.
"Oh please, I've heard about what you get up to with Steve," I laughed at Babs and then turned to Betty. "And let's not even start on you."
"Lies, all lies."
"You two going to the cafe, if you are you better hot-foot it before all the good seats are taken."
George didn't look particularly concerned about that, but I propelled him towards the double doors.
The cafe was hopping, Lou looked a little overwhelmed behind the counter and kept yelling at Goldie to get a move on.
In my years of hanging out here after school has given me a keen eye and I spotted an empty booth tucked away in the back and pulled George over to it.
"See, this is a nice quiet spot isn't it?" I asked as we sat across from each other.
George gave me a look as loud laughter echoed around the cafe.
Grabbing a menu I put up a like a shield between us and the rest of the cafe. I took his hand, grinning at him.
"Well...I guess it's not that bad," George admitted, leaning in for a kiss. Not bad at all!
"Ahem."
I smothered a laugh as George gave a jump.
"Hey, Goldie," I gave him a wave.
"What can I get you two?"
I asked for a strawberry milkshake, but George who was still embarrassed by the whole thing didn't say a word until I nudged him with my foot.
"Oh...err...a milk, chocolate."
Goldie gave us grin before heading off.
George turned a rather horrified look on me.
This time I did giggle, he was really so cute!
"Oh, George! It's not like Goldie is going to go and tell our parents!"
"I hope not my step-mother would probably want to come down with the camera." He replied, dryly.
"Mmm...," I reached for his hand again. "How about another kiss, you know what we're here for don't you?"
"Of course I do," George assured me, leaning close, I closed my eyes.
"Milkshakes!" He laughed.
I laughed too, I guess I deserved that!
