Ting-Xing Ye Books

Throwaway Daughter. 4Q, 4P
with William Bell
  • This was a very thought provoking and educational book. Although I knew the bare facts of China's one child law, I never fully understand all the emotions that could happen when these laws affect ordinary people. In this book, a Chinese girl who was adopted by Canadians travels back to China to search for her biological family. We also see the point of view of her grandfather, father, birth mother and adopted mother, which is fascinating. This paints a realistic and fascinating picture of China and I would highly recommend it.
