My Rating System The system I use to rate books I've read and talked about here is based on one developed by VOYA (Voices Of Youth Advocates) in their book reviews. Q - Quality 1 very poor 2 not too great 3 okay 4 pretty good, almost perfect 5 amazing, excellent P - Popularity 1 nobody will ever read this 2 most will not be crazy about it 3 some will love it, many won't even pick it up 4 most will love this, but perhaps one gender or fans of a particular genre won't 5 i guarantee any teen will love this Please note that a high P rating doesn't necessarily mean it's a better book, just that it appeals to more people. If you're trying to find a book everybody will love as a book club selection, this would be a good idea. But I enjoy many books the average young adult would probablt find boring, literary or overly characted driven rather than filled with an exciting plot and liberally sprinkled pop culture references. I am also fairly strict with giving out 5Qs. 4Q is still really good. 3Q, not so much.
