Caroline B. Cooney Books

Caroline B. Cooney is a renowned Young Adult author of many wonderful books, and some trashy teenybopper crap.

1. The Face On The Milk Carton
Janey Johnson Series

Janey Johnson is a normal 15 year old, living a normal life - or so she thinks. Janey's quiet life is shattered when she sees a picture of her face on the side of a milk carton under a missing child ad. Janey is torn between the love of the parents who have always been there for her, and the thought that they are not her real parents and they might be kidnappers. A very profound and serious novel, but beautifully written.

2. Whatever Happened To Janie
Janey Johnson Series

In this brilliant sequel to The Face On The Milk Carton Caroline B. Cooney accurately and realistically portrays Janie's emotional rollercoaster when she goes back to New Jersey to live with her real parents. Janie is sad because she's missing her adoptive parents, angry at her kidnapper and scared because she is alone and has nobody to talk to.

3. The Voice on the Radio
Janey Johnson Series

Janie is finally settling into her new life and getting to know her real parents better. Meanwhile, her boyfriend Reeve goes to college and gets a job as a DJ for the college radio station. He forgets what he had planned to say during one of his talk sessions so he talks about the turmoil in Janie's life. Reeve is confident nobody will ever find out, but if Janie did then her life would be ruined...

4. What Janie Found
Janey Johnson Series

When her Connecticut father suffers a stroke Janie takes over the family accounts. She discovers that he had secretly been sending Hannah money. Bent on revenge Janie plans to travel to Boulder, Colorado and find her. Reeve and Brian come too to try and keep her out of trouble. Another twist is that Stephen is studying in Boulder and may be dragged into the struglle - the last thing he wants. If Janie finds Hannah will it be the final blow to these already suffering families? To tell the truth, this book feels as though the author is just trying to prolong the series to satisfy fans who want more, without giving them anything of substance. Did we really know anything at thr end of this book we didn't know before? She seems determined not to reveal anything about Hannah, even though we're desperate to know. Perhaps it is a good thing she has pulled the plug once and for all on this series.

The Terrorist

Laura's life is thrown into chaos when her brother Billy is killed by a package bomb placed in his hands by terrorists in a London subway. Laura is wracked by grief and the need for revenge. She evaluates possible suspects and tries to find an answer to the one question on her mind - why Billy? The story takes an interetsing turn when Laura's classmate Jehran asks for a strange favour.

Driver's Ed

Remy and Morgan are normal 16 year olds who are about to recieve their driver's licenses. They never dreamed that taking some street signs from posts like every other rebellious teenager in North America could have disastrous results. But in one night their lives are changed forever when a young mother is killed because of their thoughtless deed. Remy and Morgan are plagued with guilt - and the question of how they will ever tell their families.
