The facts
This stone gets its name from the green patches of color which resemble moss growing on a rock. These green inclusions are hornblende which has grown within fissures in the quartz base rock. Hardness is 6.5 to 7.Moss agate is a protective stone, as are all agates.
Ancient traditions say that placing Agates in your garden will make you flowers brighter, and increase the yield in vegetable gardens.
