DO YOU CLEAN YOUR TRACKS ON YAHOO MESSENGER?

Odds are that you don't! If you use yahoo Messenger, there are several log
files that are kept and maintained until such time as you delete them. Also,
if you send or receive graphic files on Yahoo Messenger, there is a log file
that is maintained showing the date, time and etc. of the file transfer.

It would be wise for EVERYONE to have the knowledge of cleaning up your tracks
with Yahoo Messenger just incase peering eyes find themselves in your system.
Below you will find where the specific files are located along with
instructions on how to delete the information contained in the log files.

The fist of files to be concerned about include:

yacs.log file
ypager.log file
ft.log file (Used in older versions)
yserver.log file (Used in the new version)

HOW TO COVER YOUR TRACKS ON YAHOO MESSENGER

1. Click, start, windows explorer, windows.
2. Click Windows.
3 Click he windows files in the right side of the explorer window.
4. Scroll down and locate the "YACS.LOG FILE" - it is located near the bottom of the windows folder list.
5. Double click on "YACS" - Bring it up in Word Pad.
6. While in word Pad - at the top Click EDIT, SELECT ALL.
7. Select EDIT again and then click CLEAR (OR DELETE).
8. Close Word Pad - You will be prompted to save changes - CLICK YES.
9. Your yacs.log file is now clean!

Then you need to locate your actual Yahoo program. To do this.....

Older Versions of Yahoo Messenger:

1. Click on PROGRAM FILES.
2. Scroll down until you find YAHOO.
3. Click the "+" beside the YAHOO file.
4. The first file under YAHOO is MESSENGER.
5. Click Messenger and the files will open up on the right side of windows explorer.
6. Scroll down and look for "FT.LOG FILE."
7. Double click on FT.LOG FILE and open it with Word Pad.
8. At the top, click EDIT, SELECT ALL.
9. At the top, click EDIT, CLEAR (OR DELETE).
10. Close Word Pad and you will be prompted to save changes - CLICK YES.
11. Your FT log file is now clean.

Then.....

1. Scroll down until you find "YPAGER.LOG FILE".
2. Double click on "YPAGER.LOG FILE" and open it in Word Pad.
3. At the top, click EDIT, SELECT ALL.
4. At the top, click EDIT CLEAR (OR DELETE).
5. Close word pad and you will be prompted to save changes - CLICK YES.
6. Your YPAGER.log file is now clean.

New Version of Yahoo Messenger:

1. Click on PROGRAM FILES.
2. Scroll down until you fine YAHOO.
3. Click the "+" beside the YAHOO file.
4. The first file under YAHOO is MESSENGER.
5. Click Messenger and the files will open up on the right side of windows explorer.
6. Scroll down and look for "YSERVER.LOG FILE."
7. Double click on YSERVER.LOG FILE and open it with Word Pad.
8. At the top, click EDIT, SELECT ALL.
9. At the top, click EDIT, CLEAR (OR DELETE).
10. Close Word Pad and you will be prompted to save changes - CLICK YES.
11. Your YSERVER log file is now clean.

Then.....

1. Scroll down until you find "YPAGER.LOG FILE".
2. Double click on "YPAGER.LOG FILE" and open it in Word Pad.
3. At the top, click EDIT, SELECT ALL.
4. At the top, click EDIT CLEAR (OR DELETE).
5. Close word pad and you will be prompted to save changes - CLICK YES.
6. Your YPAGER.log file is now clean.
