The four Nations

Four european nations established their troops in america. Here are they.

Spain
Spain is the first european country to reach america. This is Christopher Columbus who reach America for the first time of history of the humanity. He did that in 1492 (this is why my adress number is 1492!). This country has the stronger army of all America. Their Conquistadores were very powerful. They conquered (as their name said) many lands, and they exterminated the Aztec and Inca nations to get the gold which the lands of south america contained. The spanish troops were situed on all the pacific coast of the south america and they covered all the Mexico, where the aztec city of Tenochiltan were destroyed by spanish soldiers (Mexico city is situates on the ruins of this old city).

Portugal:
Portugal Portuguese Portugal was the second country to get the new world. troops were dispersed on south atlantic coast of the Brasil and they occupied the bank of the Amazon river.

England
England, with France, engaged the race to the new world only 100 years after Portugal and Spain. English pionneers were dispersed on a small portion of lands between the Appalachains mountains and the atlantic coast of north america. They founded their first city 5 years before France, in 1603. They named this one Jamestown, in honor to the King of England, James.

France
France was the last country to found a city in north america. They founded Louisbourg, in the actual Nova-Scotia, and finally Quebec city, in actual Quebec province in Canada. Jaques Cartier, a french explorer, found the st-Lawrence river in 1534, and try to found a city, but the winter was too cold in Quebec and he abandonned. 74 years later, another french explorer, Samuel de Champlain, founded the actual Quebec city under the Cap diamant, a natural escarpment near the St-Lawrence river. This site was one of the better in north america for protection. But the french troops lost this marvelous city in 1759, when the troops of the english general Wolfe beated the french troops of Montcalm in the morning of this year. Learn more about this story in my page about Les périples de Nouvelle-France. The french troops were dispersed around the shores of the St-Lawrence river and in New-Brunswick and Nova-Scotia. A large territory who start at the great lakes and finich in Louisiane was also their property.
