BUT NOW HERE WE GO WITH ROTGER'S OWN WORDS, GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM 'CAUSE HE'S A REAL GREAT GUY AND BUY STOOL'S RECORDS, THEY FUCKIN' ROCKED MY SORRY ASS.

GD- Please introduce Stool Sample to the unaware readers...
Stool Sample is an old school hardcore band from Atlanta Georgia, that specializes is the GG Allin/Mentors or Meatmen vein of punk. I'm Rotger Rotgut (vocals/bass), the only original member. On guitar is Cholo (a real life Mexican American), and on drums now is Billy Asshole (who is both our second and forth drummer).

GD- It seems like you guys always had a bad reputation and bad reviews due of your very explicit lyrical content, how did you come out with this approach?
First off, I didn't name the band, but I'll continue to live up to the standard of depravity we set out to create in 1996. The band started as a complete joke, just to write the most obscene material we could imagine. Then real life started to seep into it. To be completely honest, since I write the majority of the material, there really isn't a "gross out" factor anymore. Our newer shit is primarily still ultra tasteless but more personal and less "caveman", but I think that happens as any band evolves. As far as the bad rep and reviews go, I don't give two shits about what anybody thinks. I relish the fact that people either love us or hate us. The main reason I still want to do this is to make music that I like, I'm the biggest fan of the band, and life is too short to write songs that fuckin suck.

GD- How's living in Atlanta and what about its musical scene?
I've always hated Atlanta and pretty much everyone in it. The "punk" shows we play here are god awful, we do better in rock n' roll bars. I cant tell ya how many touring bands we've played with here that were utterly disappointed. What you give is what you get, so FUCK YOU ATLANTA!

GD- As your label Visionary Records states, do you think a band must be pissed off and un-PC to be sincere?
No, not at all, but it works for us.

GD- What is un-PC according to you?
I am a scumbag, plain and simple. I've outgrown and surpassed "punk", punk to me was just fuckin shit up, all the time. Since I cant afford to go to jail anymore these days, and since "punk" is currently an advertising tool of car companies, what is a nasty scumbag like me to do? No 16 year old cocksucker bangin on a guitar is gonna tell me how good or bad life is, I've already been there and done that. What could have hurt feelings in the past is starting to get always more accepted and used these days by me, don't ya think? Our songs are more like therapy for me, and from some of the fan letters we receive, I'm not alone. Instead of breakin a beer bottle over her head, play some Stool Sample, scream along, take a deep breath, and then try to fuck her again. Everyone has been fucked over by someone. Women have been my downfall, so I'd much rather write about that then "oh, the President is a bad guy", listen to how funny all those old 1980s songs about Ronald Reagan are now. Punk rock music never cured society's ills or positively changed anything, most of the original "punks" are now suburban fodder, so why bother with such trivial shit as politics. Everybody fucks but playing songs about it really seems to upset the self imposed, "scene" protecting, fanzine reviewers.

GD- What are your main musical influences, and what do you think about the current underground?
Since I came up in the early '80s, that's where all the bands I love are: Adrenalin OD, Battalion of Saints, Dayglo Abortions, FEAR, The Stranglers to name a few. One of the benefits of being a modern day scumbag is you get to meet alot of like-minded individuals, most of the current bands I like, I know personally and we've played shows with 'em. I gotta say that on Dec 28th last year the entire underground scene lost a giant in Rupture's Gus Chamber RIP, he was a brilliant crazy fuck.

GD- What about tattoos? You guys are pretty covered up.
We are great advertising for our tattoo artist friends! Its a package deal, we live this shit, we will not conform, its part of the bigger idea of pissing in society's face. I'm not like you and I don't like you either, ya know?

GD- Is the one from the "4 life" seven inch cover real?
Yes, and it is now on an EX-BAND MEMBER, pick your ink carefully boys and girls! I do have the Skull and Plungers tattoed on my leg.

GD- This is a question I do to every southern band, are you proud of your heritage and what about the north/south differences in the States?
Well, this question is kinda a stickler for us, I'm from New Jersey, Cholo is from California, and Billy wasnt born in GA either. I think the southren United States kinda gets a bum rap, in Jersey my old neighborhood was so ultra racist, it makes GA seem like a multiracial utopia. But that said, I hate the entire human race, I dont care what color you are, if I dont know you, fuck you, die.

GD- As you told me GG Allin is one of your biggest influences, what do you think about today's renowed interest in his music and character?
In the end, I really feel sorry for GG, he was totally misunderstood. I can fully appreciate his frustrations with the music biz, and watchin him degenerate like that really make you take stock in who you are and what you want to do. I'd sit and talk with him here in the Clermont Lounge and he was quiet and even polite, which is a side I dont think alot of people saw. I appreciate the GG comparisons some reviewers thrust upon us, but theres alot of differences. GG never had a really good band, and if I gotta stick a microphone up my ass to make you buy a record, you can keep your money.

GD- Being so obsessed with sex and women, tell me what do you think about porn and maybe some of the starlets or movies you dig the most...
I dig alot of retro porn like Devil in Mrs. Jones 1, 2, and 3, but I'm easily bored with the ol' "in and out" straight porn, I like lesbian, bestiality, German scat, Asian rape, stuff ya dont normally see, like B&D, S&M, amputee kinda shit.

GD- It seems like shit is important for your band image, have you ever heard of Veronica Moser? She's one of the nastiest shit whores I've ever seen!!
No, hook me up! I think anything with Max Hardcore is a dont miss, also the old Dark Bros movies are great to find, the German Bizarre series is excellent too.

GD- What are your future plans?
Keep on doin what we've been doin, we got a split 7" with GA's THE SCHITZ comin out the beginning of October called "Baptism in Jism", we have another split 7" with Canada's LOVED BY NONE coming up in mid-November. Another split with NYC's NIHILISTICS is planned as well, and I have a "solo" 7" coming up before the end of the year too.
