IN MY OPINION, THE HOOKERS WERE ONE OF THOSE BANDS SPRINGING OUTTA THE ROCK UNDERGROUND WHO HAD THE GUTS TO FOLLOW THEIR OWN PATH WITHOUT CARING OF ANYTHING EXCEPT WHAT THEY REALLY WANTED TO DO. SADLY, THEY'RE GONE. THE BEST HEAVY METAL BAND IN THE HISTORY OF PUNK ROCK LEFT THE PATH, BUT NOT FOREVER... YES, LIKE CRAZED CELLS STILL ALIVE IN THE MIND OF AN ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER, THE ROCK'N'ROLL OUTLAW FORMED ANOTHER BAND, THE BROTHERS OF CONQUEST. WHEN I FIRST HEARD THEIR DEBUT "ALL THE COLOURS OF DARKNESS" I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED BY THE POWER OF THEIR SOUTHERN BADASS METAL ONSLAUGHT AND DROPPED THIS QUESTIONS TO THE OUTLAW WISHING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOOKERS... IT TOOK A BIT BUT FINALLY WE'RE HERE, SO PLEASE READ ON AND REMEMBER... DEATH TO FALSE METAL!!!

GD- So, after the HOOKERS split up I heard you moved out of Lexington and started BOC... why the Hookers split up and what is the history of the Brothers of Conquest?
Well the Hookers split is pretty simple.Our guitarist Stony Tombs got married and left the band.We discussed keeping the band going,but I really didnt want to do that without him on guitar.Because we had started the band together,I didnt think it was right.The B.O.C came about 2 or 3 months later.I moved to louisville and got some guys together.Some of them had already done some time in the Hookers( Ian spyders,Rodney roads)at various times.We brought in Iony rivers from Ian's other band Starkillerand that was it.

GD- Both the monicker and the album title are drawn from some of the best italian exploitation movies I'm a sucker of, what are your faves? "All the colour of darkness" has some relation with the themes outta the Martino's movie starring Edwige Fenech or you just chose it casually? How do you feel about Lucio Fulci's death?
Yes I am a fave of the italian films, my favorites are Fulci's "City of the living dead", Bava's "Lisa and the devil", Agento's "Susperia" and Martino's "Day of the maniac"aka "all the colours of darkness". When I first saw this movie I was amazed. It was around the time I was writing the B.O.C album and I was pretty obsessed with it, so there is maybe more than just the title that made it to the record. It is both a giallo and a cult wicthcraft film. Also Edwige Fenech is very stunning and beautiful. She is amazing in the film and in most of her other horror films. Martino also has several great flicks out there. I am also a big fan of the cannibal genre. My personal favorite is Umberto lenzi's "The man from deep river". The violence and gore in his movies are unbelievable. As far as Fulci's death is concerned, I think it is tragic and it is also tragic that he did not get to make one last great movie.I think the last good one was maybe "Cat in the Brain" or "Aenigma". He made a few really bad ones leading up to his death. Also it seems he gets no respect from horror fans now. He's thrown into a category of Ruggero Deodato, Umberto Lenzi, Bruno Mattei and Andrea Bianchi, not that they are bad,but they're just seen as exploitation directors.When fulci has quite a few poetic shots and very supernatural story lines, some not unlike Dario Argento,who also seems to get shafted in modern horror .

GD- How did you got signed with Go Kart? I heard the album should have been released on Tee Pee...
Well we were signed to Go-kart because we felt Tony at Teepee was taking to long getting our record out .We were also looking at putting it out on Devil Doll records but it would have taken too long. I was friends with Dean at Go-kart from back in the Hookers days and that's what happened.

GD- You recently went out on tour, any remarkable stories? How was people's reaction inf ront of your metallic assault?
Well it seems that if we get in front of a crowd that likes real metal or that is still stuck in the eighties than we will kick ass. Red necks and bikers also seem to dig us. Also it seems now that punk rock people like what we are doing and that wasn't true 3 or 4 years ago. I guess modern music has gotten so bad that they have to accept what we are doing because it's against the grain. The only people that seem to dislike us are the hipster rock fags, they always complain that we're too metal. Next week they'll like something else and have a new hair do and a new set of tattoos and talk about how they liked us before anyone else did...

GD- What about the ROCK'N'ROLL OUTLAW solo album? How and why you did that? I also know it's becoming a huge collector's item since of the different versions releasead in Europe and USA...
Well I did that album in Kankeekee, Il for S.O.S records. It was released on vinyl. Originally there were only 666 copies made. The only reason I did it really is because I could. Ryan at S.O.S suggested it and we did it in 2 days with me on all instruments. I used a bunch of songs that I wasn't going to use for the Hookers and did some covers. I think it could have been much better if we had had more time. Then later it was put out in Europe with a different cover by People Like You records in Germany. I wasn't aware that it was a collectors item yet!!

GD- What about the Confederacy of Scum and particulary with ANTiSEEN, which whom you split a single with the HOOKERS?
Well our connection to the Confederacy Of Scum was rather shortlived. We (HOOKERS) were supposed to play at one of the Supershows right after we broke up. Of course that never happened. But as far as ANTISEEN are concerned we played with them a couple of times and always had a good time. They're one of my favourite bands of all times, I buy everything they put out and Jeff is one of the coolest motherfuckers I've ever meet. Getting to put out a single with them is a dream come true and great as the Hookers last official release. I do like some of the other C.O.S. bands like COCKNOOSE and HELLSTOMPER.

GD- Your album seems to be based on the concept of Evil in all its forms, besides the monster-inspired songs. Do you feel the duty to keep rock evil as the BULEMICS said or this is just a topic that comes along with your horror movie fixation?
Unlike the Bulemics, we mean what we say. I'm not dissing the Bulemics, I just think we're more serious, Hookers toured with the Bulemics once… they were pretty crazy guys but mostly just drunks not too evil. I'd have to say alot of concepts on the album are from a fixation on horror. But some of it stems from real evil and the want to do evil things.

GD- What about Europe? I know you toured Germany with the HOOKERS, any plans to bring the BOC here? Do you like best to play America or the Old Continent, and why? Are you updated with the musical ongoings here or like some band in particular?
We want to come to Europe as soon as possible. I would say I like playing on the Old Continent better. America is a hard scene for real metal and no I'm not up to date on the current goings on of the European music scene.

GD- You told before that modern music sucks the way most, is that why you take your starting point from the best tradition in 80s metal? What are your main influences and the modern bands you like anyway?
We want to bring back some of the older ideas back to metal ,the music itself , the imagery and some what of a good time attitude while being totally evil. It seems now that nu-metal acts constantly cry about what terrible lives they've had and how hard their lives have been and all the terrible things that had happened that made them such sensitive artists. I don't want to hear it. I know how bad life is already, I'm living it as we speak. I want to hear something evil. I also want to feel like I'm seeing a band that wants to entertain. Not just some guys' turntables and some social issues. I want to hear something that will motivate me or make feel like raising me fist and yell "DEATH TO FALSE METAL"!!!!

GD- Are there any new recording plans for the BOC in the making?
Right now we're working on a couple of singles and demos and next summer we will record a new album. I will also be working on a new R'N'R OUTLAW album early next year. That's it.
