~Ariadne~
I smiled to myself as I got in my cell. My dad said I could go to Officer Chasez’s house if I passed the first test with a ninety percent. I then took off my dress and changed in a pair of jeans and a halter top, topping it off with a light gray sweater that zipped up in the front. I then laid down on my bed on my stomach as I pulled out a pen and paper. My dad came in the cell with a chair. I then looked out the cell and everyone was staring.
“All right… first question. What are the Constitutional rights? Take your time because this one will take a while” he said smiling
Damn that was like the longest one but here goes. 1. You have the right to remain silent. 2. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. 3. You have the right at this time to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you are being questioned. 4. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning, if you wish. 5. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any question or make any statement. 6. Do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you? 7. Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? 8. You have the right to counsel. If you are unable to pay for counsel, you are entitled to have one provided without charge. Damn that was a lot of writing.
“Okay, next question. This is your own opinion but if you could choose any two partners, who’d they be?” he asked
I immediately wrote down Officer Cheyenne Lock and Lt. Josh Chasez. I then saw Josh looking at me and I turned back to my father.
"Question three...why do you want to become a cop?"
Wow! That's so easy. I then began to write that ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to become one. Being the daughter of a lientenant was a dream come true. Well, the fact that he'd teach me things such as what to do to defend yourself and how to use a gun. I always wanted to protect the world from crime and stuff like that. I want a world where people don't have to be afraid. I know that's not possible but I want to be and do the best I can. I then looked to my dad again and smiled.
"Ariadne, you tired?" he asked
"Well, my hand hurts" I said laughing
"Well, you only got two questions left. Question number four is what is your vision?"
"Huh?" I asked looking at him
"Your eyesight. Well, you don't have to write that down but what is your vision?"
"One eye is 20/40 and the other is 20/100. Now you see why I need this surgery, among other things" I said softly
"All right...question five is how many cops are in this station? I mean, every single cop" he asked
"Damnit!" I said to myself and I put my hand against my face as I thought
Damnit, this was so not fair. I really hope I knew this but then I got a number in my head. I put down thirty-two on the paper and handed it to my fatherr. I then watched his face go in awe. He looked amazed but wow.
"Oh my god! Ariadne, this is amazing!" he said looking from the paper to me, "You passed EVERY SINGLE question" he replied
"I did?" I asked in shock
"Yes baby! This is unbelievable becauuse this has never happened before. It usually takes two or three tries" he said, "because those Constitutional Rights are hard" he replied
I just smiled at my father. He then kissed my cheek and walked out the cell. I then grabbed the book 'How to Handle A Gun'. I just shook my head and I heard the cell open. It was Lieutenant Chasez. He shut the cell and smiled at me.
"You did good, babe" he whispered
By now, everyone was back to work. I smiled at him as I skimmed through the pages of the book. I knew how to handle a gun, so why was I looking at this book?
"So, what time am I coming over?" I asked as I laughed
"Well, when my shift is over, we'll leave" he said rubbing Ariadne's back
"All right then. Get back to work!" I said smiling a little
"Okay" he said as he walked away
~Josh~
I was so impressed with my girl's test. I still couldn't believe it, though. She passed every question. I then sat down at my desk and did the paperwork.
~Cheyenne~
I walked over to Ariadne's cell. She looked so peaceful. She was sleeping right now and she had a long day already. Having a guy sexual assault her was just TOO much for her. I felt she deserve a lot more respect and she'd get it if she was with us. I then walked over to Cheyenne. Our desks were together.
"Hey Josh..."I said smiling
"Oh hey Cheyenne. What's up?"
"Not much but how are Ariadne and you?" I asked sitting next to Josh at my desk getting a pencil out
"We're good and we have a date tonight..." he said smiling, "Even though we had sex once, she still wants me" he said smiling
"Who knows Josh...she may be the girl for you" I said encouraging him
"You really think so, Chey?" he asked softly
I nodded my head and he grabbed my hand, giving it a light squeeze. I just hoped I was right because Josh and Ariadne seem to be the cutest couple ever. I mean, Benjamin and me were cute, but Ariadne and Josh just started to go out. I just wanted things to go all right with Josh. He's been hurt too many times so maybe everything would be okay.
~Hours later~
~Josh~
Everyone had already left so it was just Ariadne and me. She was still asleep. I was getting frustrated already though. We had this crime to figure out. I was so mad that I just got up and took off my police shirt off, revealing me in my pants and a muscle shirt along with my boots. She was still sleepinng, which was good. I had left her cell open earlier that day. I then walked into the gym, which was kept at the station. I immediately walked to the punching bag and started punching it. I was so tired and frustrated. It was just eight-thirty as well and I sighed as I looked around. I had been punching thirty minutes when I saw Ariadne in the doorway of the gym.
"Are you okay?" she asked walking up to me
"I am just stressed about this crime. I can't figure it out, Ariadne..."
"Want some help? I can probably help you if you want?" she suggested
"No baby. It's okay...I'll figuree it out when I can" he replied
"I want to, though. Come on" she said leading us back to my desk
I pulled a chair out for her to sit in. I then handeed her the crime.
"We're trying to figure out who stole all these elctronics from Best Buy because there are so many people that can be the suspects" I answered as I looked at her
"Well, you did take fingerprints, right?" she asked
"Of course. That was the first thing we did when we got there!" he answered
"Well, who are the possibilities?" she asked
"There is Jennifer Grifner, Jim Bassile, and Alex Wicklock" he answered pulliing out a picture of each person
"Damn, this will be easier because I know each and everyone of them" she said smiling, "and Alex said that he was going to rob a store but I didn't believe him" she shrugged
"We'll check it out later. Let's go to my place, okay? This investigation is driving me insane" I sighed a little, "If thaat's okay?" I grabbed my shirt
"Yeah that is perfectly fine!" I said smiling as we departed the police station
