"As the show became more and more popular, so did the theme song," says Eliot Daniel, composer of the catchy melody. "In writing a theme for the show I tried to get an opening phrase that would say, 'I love Lucy'. Having settled on the first four notes, the rest of the
song practically wrote itself. I played it for Jess Oppenheimer
(producer), Desi Arnaz, and a few others...and we had a theme song."
