From The Heart
He Comes To Me
Staring into sky of night
veiled in darkness
be thy twinkling light
against vastness
space I do see

Cooling the night caresses me
and though tired this vessel be
I gather thoughts
once again calling to thee

I plea for your return
from the vastness of empty space
miles and years are not kind
for they separate our body and mind

Longing for your touch, your embrace
this emptiness will find no victory
for I cast it down
and call to you
within confinements of my mind

I have felt your gentle touch
upon the palm of my hand
many times over again
surely as numerous
as the grains of sand
resting upon the sea's deep floor

Ah, I picture thee drawing near
my heart beats a thousand beats
within a single breath my bosom take
within my soul doth shake

Before me I see
thy face so fair
and eyes like the morn
unveiling darkness of mine own fear

Thy words fall softly upon my ear
gently sooth my storm tossed soul
I thirst not when you be near
for thy hand I hold

A tender kiss upon my forehead you leave
to bid me a fair night's sleep
by ambers light aglow my love doth depart
yet strengthening mine own heart

Tho he be gone
daylights game holdeth no victory
for night will fall upon this day
and I shall beckon him once again.....
