This website has no affiliation with Line 6 in any way shape or form. The intent of this page is to bring as many resources for AX2 owners into one place as possible. The webmaster receives no remuneration from Line 6 or anyone else. I just love the amp and I don't care who knows it!
First off, let's get rid of the "Solid State" myth. The AX2 is not a solid state amp in the context that you are probably accustomed. None of the Line 6 amps are. They are digital amplifiers, containing amazing software, known as Tube-Tone Technology.
This software enables Line 6's amplifiers to emulate classic, sought-after tones from the best of the best. I've owned mine for under a year, and it has never failed to amaze me with what it can do. You don't need batteries for any pedals, your entire rig is all in one. If you feel you need more effects than what is programmed onboard the AX2, you use too many effects.
Ok, 'nuff said. Links are below.
Line 6 website | Where else would you start? Lots here, including the discussion board, which you have to register to take part in. |
Line 6's Link List | This is a shortcut straight to Line 6's own link list. There are more cool sites listed there. |
AX2 discussion group | This is a good group, not much traffic on the AX2 side, but perhaps we can rectify that?? |
THE PATCHWIZARD | HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDA very cool, relatively new program. The full version is now available. With it, you can now take advantage of all those thousands of POD patches all over the web. It's now compatible with ALL Line 6's products. Yes, even Bass POD. YOU NEED THIS PROGRAM! |
PATCHWERKZ! | About bloody time! A site dedicated to gathering and distributing patches for the AX2 and the rest of the line 6 family. I kept an eye on this site from it's formative stages, and it's open for business, so go on over and upload your faves, and try a few that are there! | THE AX2 EDITOR | For a mere 30 bucks, you can grab this program to edit your patches on your PC. I haven't tried the program myself, but I have watched and listened for reviews on it, and so far, they've all been on the high side of good. |
George Van Wagner's Page | This gentleman is the Line 6 guru. He's the guy who answers all the dumb questions I ask about my Line 6 gear. He should know. He's on the Line 6 staff. |
Harmony Central's AX2 reviews | Some good, some bad. In all likely-hood, the bad reviews are from dudes who couldn't figure the thing out. |
Guitarists.net | This is my personal favourite place for everything guitar. There's a few Line 6 owners there, and several of em are running AX2's. |
AXE Music | This is the store I bought my AX2 from. With the service I recieved, I figure they deserve to be here. |
Webriffs | Go here, look in the "Hall Of Fame" for "Lance Higgins". This guy is pretty amazing. He runs an AX2, and has some sound clips he's put together. |
AZ's Page | This is a fellow I met at the AX2 discussion. One helluva pro musician, he's the man responsible for organizing Line 6 User groups in the L.A. area. Excellent audio content here. |
MALHAVOK'S WORLD | A heavy metal band site, whose guitarist is a Line 6 fanatic. This is probably the best place to start looking for patches, be it for AX2, POD, Flex, what have you. (listen to the band too, they're GOOD!) | LOTHY | MORE PATCHES! Honestly, these patch sites just keep popping up. Lothy's a guitarist from Germany who runs an AX2. He's provided some quality patches he'd like to share as well. |
The Wizard | This is a site I only just found. This fella has a pretty good comprehensive overview of the AX2, and other Line 6 products. |
BRAND NEW!!! AX2 Editor/Librarian | Here's another program you can test out. Edit/Create/Store your patches on your PC. | The Shadows | This is another site using AX2 content..European in origin, its dedicated to the guitar instrumental work of The Shadows. Remember them? Me, barely. Cool site though, with audio content. |
Now, this is a very young page. I
need links!!
If you find any you think would
make this list more thorough, please email the link to me.
The more links, the more usefull this site will be to you and your fellow AX2 fans.
If you're in Alberta, you own a Line 6 product, and are interested in attending a Line 6 user group meeting, please stand up and be counted. Leave a message on the message board below, or email me at the link above. I'll be forwarding the info to the organizers once a week, and will let everyone know once a date has been set.
