Full Construction Engineering services are performed by a project team consisting of a project engineer and staff of inspectors. The project engineer is generally the primary point of contact for the client, and coordinates project work with government agencies, residents, businesses, and other concerned parties. The project engineer works to resolve construction issues with the construction contractor, oversees inspection, testing, and surveying requirements, and is responsible for maintaining proper project documentation. The project engineer provides project management on behalf of the project owner and works with the owner to ensure the project is constructed as intended. The project engineer reviews project progress on a daily basis to determine whether the project is on schedule and what the appropriate levels of inspection and testing are. Inspectors provide the day-to-day, in-the-trenches oversight of construction activities. Inspectors measure and record pay quantities and ensure the construction work is performed in accordance with applicable specifications.
