Hikaru is very short so she is often mistaken as an elementary student instead of the junior high school girl she really is. Despite her simplicity and innocence, she is the bravest, strongest, and most mature. Her first weapon is just a sword. Soon she upgrades to a sword of Escudo that turns to flames if someone other than herself touches it. Her magical element is Fire.

Her magical element is Water.

Her time spent in the archery club at school allows her to use the bow and arrow well. Her first weapon is a bow and arrow set. She then moves on to a huge sword of Escudo, which becomes too heavy to lift if anyone besides herself tries to pick it up. Her magical element is Wind.
Name: Mokona
Birthday, Age, Blood type: Unknown
Mokona is the mysterious creature that Clef left with Presea to give to the Magic Knights. It can’t speak anything besides "Puu." It can take many things (like a tent or food) from the ornament on its head. It is unclear as to what other good it has. It looks like it’s not really thinking about anything at all; maybe it really isn’t thinking about anything. It seems rather fond of Hikaru, and lets the Magic Knights communicate with Clef, but it quickly disappears whenever there's a fight. Maybe there is more to it than it seems.
Name: Emeraude
Princess Emeraude’s prayers are what normally support the world of Cephiro, which is why she’s also known as its "pillar". In fact, Cephiro’s condition is simply a reflection of Princess Emeraude’s heart. But because she was kidnapped by Zagato, Princess Emeraude isn’t able to pray for Cephiro’s peace and safety anymore. This is what's causing monsters and evil spirits to run around Cephiro causing strife and confusion. Although she looks like a little girl, Princess Emeraude is older than she looks.
Name: Guru Clef
Age: 745 years old
Favorite thing: Silence
Least favorite thing: Loudness
Hobbies: Strolls and talking to his "pets"
Guru Clef is the main magician in Cephiro; he teaches magic to those who have the potential to use it. He promised Princess Emeraude that he would guide the girls summoned from another world to become Magic Knights. He is the top guru in all of Cephiro and is known to have quite a temper.
Name: Soushi Presea
Favorite thing: V-Tech (a kind of food in Cephiro)
Least favorite thing: A messy room
Hobbies: Punishment
In Cephiro, weapons are made by "artisans," and that includes both weapons for battle and weapons for sports. The Chief Artisan in Cephiro is Presea. In fact, Presea is the only Artisan in all of Cephiro who can make weapons from the Legendary Mineral Escudo. One thing about Presea, though, is that she doesn’t always listen to the people she’s talking to. Instead, she has a tendency to go off into her own world and play around. She is constantly frustrated by Mokona cluttering up her room, so in her spare time, she develops traps to catch Mokona and ways to punish him when he's caught. Upon first meeting the girls, she thinks they're hooligans who have come to mess up her room. Once she realizes who they are, she gives the Magic Knights beginning weapons later, once they gather the Escudo for her, their real weapons. She lives in the Forest of Silence with a special door only she, Clef, and Knights can open.
Name: Ferio
Favorite thing: Sleep
Least favorite thing: Not enough sleep
Hobbies: Napping
Ferio suddenly appeared in the Forest of Silence, confusing the Knights, who had no idea who he was. This mysterious boy definitely knows how to use a sword. Although there are still many unanswered questions about Ferio, one thing that is known is that he uses a sword as big as he is. He has a scar on his left cheek and one across the bridge of his nose. He is a naturally charming young man. He seems quite taken with Fuu at first glance, despite her initial distrust of him, and proceeds to sweep her off her feet. He doesn’t seem to like Umi, who doesn’t trust him anyway. A competent and self-assured young man, he seems lonely at times.
Name: Zagato
Occupation: Sol (High Priest)
Zagato is the evil sorcerer who kidnapped Emeraude and is determined to keep the Magic Knights from doing what they were brought to Cephiro to do. He has many minions that he sends out to fight and do his dirty work for him. He is very mysterious; after all, he used to be a calm, considerate person who always helped the Princess as the Pillar. He has one of the strongest hearts in all of Cephiro, and used to protect the Princess so that nothing got in the way of her prayer. But he is now her captor. He controls many evil spirits and has many evil followers. But he may have another reason for kidnapping the Princess, one that is not so sinister.
Name: Alcione
Info: She is the first of Zagato's minions to fight the Magic Knights. She used to be Clef's student, and he was the one who taught her how to use magic. Now she uses this magic to fight the Magic Knights. She does Zagato's bidding because she loves him--even though he does not love her. She is nearly finished off by the Magic Knights, and when she returns to Zagato to apologize, he kills her.
Name: Ascot
Occupation: Palu, or summoner
Ascot is a little boy who is friends with monsters and keeps them as pets. But because of their monster-like appearance, everyone else hates his friends. Ascot feels he is the only one who understands that they're really nice. Because of this, Ascot and his friends are treated like dirt wherever they go. He uses his friends to fight for Zagato because Zagato told him he could keep his friends and stay at his castle.
At the Shrine of the Sea, he comes to fight with Umi. After seeing how distressed he becomes when she kills one of his monsters, she tells him that she understands that he cares when his monster-friends get hurt just like how she cares when Fuu and Hikaru get hurt. She asks him if the monsters have ever caused trouble for the people. He tells her that they never have; if he told them not to, they'd never hurt anyone. She tells him to stand up for his friends, then, when people complain. She says that if he makes them work for Zagato and do bad things, then they really will be the "bad guys" everyone thinks they are. Umi apologizes for hurting his friends, and Ascot, blushing, apologizes too.
Name: Caldina
Occupation: Charmer/Dancer
Info: Caldina is working for Zagato because she needs the money and no other reason. In the Shrine of the Wind, Caldina comes to fight with Fuu. She uses her dancing to bewitch Hikaru and Umi into attacking Fuu. Then she charms Fuu into attacking Hikaru and Umi by using her own body to move Fuu's. But Fuu turns on Caldina and sends an attack that was supposed to go after Hikaru and Umi at Caldina. Then Fuu asks Caldina if she would risk her life for Zagato. Caldina tells her no way, her life's her own. Fuu then tells her that she would risk her life for Hikaru and Umi and that if Caldina intends to hurt them, she must kill her. Caldina laughs and says that there's no way she's giving her life for Zagato. She says she's earned her pay by giving the Magic Knights a battering, but nothing beyond that. She then tells Fuu that she was really cool and wishes them good luck on the rest of her journey.
Name: Lafarga
Occupation: Captain of Cephiro's Inner Guard
Info: Lafarga fights for Zagato, but only because Zagato cast a spell on Lafarga to control his heart. Usually, Lafarga fights to protect the princess. In the Shrine of Fire, Lafarga comes to fight Hikaru. His orders are to destroy the Magic Knights. Hikaru fights fiercely, and tells him that she and her friends are going to become Magic Knights, rescue Princess Emeraude, and save Cephiro. At the words "Princess Emeraude", the spell begins to break, but then it is renewed and Lafarga fights. As he is about to finish Hikaru off with her own sword, it bursts into flames in his hands and he is burned. Then the spell is broken and he realizes he has been fighting for Zagato.
