Take a look above... do you see the cover for the movie, Kimera? It's a pretty cool cover, huh? Well, DO NOT BE FOOLED! The cover may look pretty, and if you are one of those people that don't try before you buy, like me, then you may get suckered into buying this one on an impulse. You would have to pay me 20 dollars to sit through this crap again. Luckily, I only rented this one. I would've wanted my 20 dollars back, actually, no, I would've wanted the 45 minutes of my life back that I spent watching this thing. Well, here's the plot, Osamu and Chris see some kind of pod that landed on earth from outer space. One pod has Kimera in it. Osamu falls in love with Kimera. Of course Kimera isn't the only vampire that has been sent to earth. Oh no, her (or should I say its?) two brothers have been sent to earth also. One wants to destroy her to prevent her from destroying the earth and the other wants Kimera to wreak havoc on the earth. My, so much pressure for one little green haired vampire. Anyway, Osamu and Chris, the naughty men they are, break Kimera free from the government and all hell breaks loose, with lots of loss blood.

Ick... this movie is just so bad. Where do I start? Ok, first the length. It's like 45 minutes long. That hardly constitutes a movie. They try to squeeze way too much stuff into only forty-five minutes, but maybe it's better that way. I don't think this movie would be any better if it were longer. I guess it would just be another 45 minutes of suffering. Anyway, the story is pretty lame. Well, no, I think it could've worked, but everything in this movie is just executed so wrong. There is no character development, to speak of. In fact, Kimera doesn't even speak, she only moans when a few guys rape her. ::rolls eyes:: She only speaks in flashbacks, and I don't understand, that if she can talk in flashbacks, why can't she talk on earth? Her brothers can, so why can't she?

The characters are really bad too. Osamu is your typical idiot. Chris is your typical pain in the butt. Kimera is just weird. She looks like a woman, but her chest is clearly that of a man. Ummmm ok. It's really funny, when the guys want to rape her, one guy says, "she looks weird." NO SH*T! But let's rape him/her anyway. The two brothers are really stupid. We have one big mean dude, who has, like arm tentacles, (?!?WHY?!?!) and the other brother is your typical pretty boy with psychic powers. The rest of the characters are all pretty forgettable. None of them are worth mentioning. The music, oh my, don't get me started on that. The soundtrack consists of screeching violins; they play at all the wrong times. Screeching violins really aren't appropriate in a battle scene. I found myself wishing it would stop.

What else is bad, oh yes, besides the whole movie itself, the gore is just so unnecessary. It's a vampire movie; yes, I do expect blood, however, I don't expect to see a guy's eye popping out when he is impaled by tentacles, I don't expect poor animals to be impaled and sucked dry. (Really that's so gross, can we stick to sucking human blood please, and the animals have nothing to do with it.) Yes, I expect blood in a vampire movie, and even a little gore, but this gore is so over the top, it's ridiculous. This is one of the few movies that have actually made me queasy.

The art and animation are really plain and nothing better than something you could see on TV. The art on the cover is nice, it's too bad the art and animation in the movie isn't as nice. The story's just is all-wrong. It seems like a whole bunch of unrelated crap just jumbled together and called a movie. Every scene is stupid. The fight scenes are poor. The dialogue is poor and just every scene is poor. The end is the worst. Although, the decision that the main character makes is unexpected, the movie leaves way too much open and it really feels like that the writer just didn't care what happened to anyone, sooooo why should we? I should mention, though, that the English voice acting is a plus. I really liked it. Everyone seemed to be into his or her characters. However, even good voice acting won't save this movie. Generally, this movie is stupid. Everything just feels dumb. The characters are stupid, the plot is stupid, the decisions people make are stupid, the way the movie is put together is stupid, the depth is bad etc. Everything is so unneeded; the rape scene, the gore, the story, the characters and well, the movie. Do not buy this movie. Do not rent. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars. If you want a good vampire movie, rent Vampire Hunter D. (Although D isn't that great, it's much better than this.) The Vampire Princess Miyu OAV's are always a great alternative too. Better yet, if you want a good vampire movie, wait until the updated Vampire Hunter D comes out.
